Sometimes "vintage" is just old. This little shelf, Bud, was a learning experience. Unfortunately, I knocked him off the worktable before strengthening his structural integrity. Bud was likely built during the depression, the furniture version of flour sack dresses. Folks used whatever materials they could scrounge up. However, I booted him with my b***y and down he went - joints popping and wood splitting. I can probably make a key rack with the printed piece, "California Growers Exchange. Grown in the U.S.A."

It feels like Zelda took forever to come to be. She is a solid beauty with plenty of art deco style. She is a grand dame of the deco decore. Two large drawers are deep enough for sweaters and jeans, while the top fancy drawer is divided for your "frillies". She has new hardware and casters, which make her easy to maneuver in today's mobile world. These Waterfall pieces were inexpensive but built to last. If you think Zelda would make a nice addition to your family, send me a message.

I have a new piece to show you. It is an itty-bitty table named Pixie. She is a custom job for a specific client. The client needed a landing zone to fit just under a light switch in a small space. Pixie is not elaborate or vintage, but she is just right for a situation. I added a little visual texture to tone down the butter yellow. Happy client smiles are excellent!

You see a lot of waterfall-style furniture on Marketplace these days. The mileage and wear are pretty evident. But consider the origin. This style was born in the 20s and 30s as an inexpensive option for newlyweds. It is made with veneer over plywood or less expensive wood. Young marrieds were able to have some of the emerging snazzy Art Deco style without spending a fortune.

This is a piece I am currently working on. She is Zelda.

There is a little Under-The-Sea flavor to Aquata - pretty but not pretty big.

Meet "Aquata," she is a refurbished desk, originally a vanity likely from the 30s or 40s. She is small enough to fit in a corner, but just right for a laptop workspace (46"w X19"d X 30.5"t). She has small casters, so she is easy to roll out or shift as you need. The drawers are freshly lined and slide out like a mermaid through water! For $175 you may find your own "enchantment under the sea."
