Texas-Australia's Aussieblock product now has a hollow block version with two cavities, allowing insulation and services such as electric and plumbing. Also facilitates the installation of re-bar rods at intervals and at corners, for reinforcement. Definitely a game-changer that creates a permanent, waterproof, fireproof, strong, and attractive block wall system that will have the advantages of both thermal mass and insulating qualities. This what a set of "design sketches" look like after 2 months of back and forth design sketches, changes, options, emailing back and forth with client, phone calls, etc., and signals the termination of the first stage of design. This plan set is six pages 11x17, most drawings at scale 1/8"=one foot scale, all hand-drawn. Completely custom design for one client, with special features such as gothic arched windows, double-decker covered porch, basement garage, etc as directed by the client. NOW, we do initial budget calcs, check basement garage excavation cost, check radiant heat, begin to get inquiries from SOME of out critical subcontractors, etc, and plan for changes, as we move towards the construction drawing phase. Also need approval from HOA and county governance.
