Somewhere between the paint dust, school lessons, coffee reheats and late-night sanding sessions a lot of us built something bigger than a business. 🤍

This is for the moms figuring it out as they go.
The ones loading furniture with kids in the backseat.
The ones editing reels after bedtime.
The ones creating beauty in the middle of very full lives.

Being a mom and running a creative business can feel messy, exhausting and overwhelming sometimes but also incredibly meaningful.

CAUTION ⚠️

My friend was out getting her steps in and instead of sending me a normal text, she sent me a curbside oak furniture alert.

At this point, the people in my life fully understand the assignment.

And honestly?
If it’s solid oak with good bones, I will consider rearranging my entire day for it 👀🪵

I know it’s tempting to paint every piece a bold “look at me” color but if you’re flipping furniture to sell, neutral-rich tones are where the magic happens 👀

These are hands down my top 3 paint colors that consistently get the most attention from buyers:

• Sherwin-Williams Roycroft Bronze Green
• Sherwin-Williams Tricorn Black
• Wise Owl Fauna

Why?
Because they work in almost every home style. Modern. Vintage. Farmhouse. Moody. Organic. They photograph beautifully and make old furniture feel high-end again 🙌

Sprayed this one with my trusty Wagner Flexio 5000 and honestly watching paint lay down smooth will never get old 😮‍💨

Don’t be afraid to use a furniture stripper! It’s your friend that helps you get to the next step in your project.

Helpful reminders:
Apply it liberally
Keep it saturated
Look for bubbling
It will be messy (be prepared)

I bought this dresser for a furniture flipping challenge and somehow it ended up becoming one of my favorite pieces 🤎

Here’s what I did 👇

• Removed the hardware
• Stripped the old finish
• Scrubbed + sanded everything smooth
• Applied a paint wash
• Sealed it for durability
• Added furniture balm, new hardware + drawer liner

And those drawer joints?
Knapp joints 👏 One of my favorite details on older furniture.

Didn’t win the challenge…but I still ended up with a piece I love.

Reminder: you do NOT need a giant workshop or fancy tools to start furniture refinishing. Just start somewhere.
