Registration is open through next week for the Rest & Vision retreat Saturday, January 18 – Monday, January 20, 2025. This unique leadership development retreat is held in the Lodge at Camp Sumatanga. There will be intentional leadership development in whole group sessions and small group breakouts, as well as Sunday afternoon free time to enjoy hiking and exploring around Sumatanga. Every night we’ll have time to sing, dance, play, and gather around the fireplace in the lodge.
Participants arrive Saturday after lunch and the weekend will wrap up after worship Monday morning. This collaborative, cross conference event is ONLY for high school and college students.
The registration fee covers lodging, all programs, and meals from Saturday dinner through Monday breakfast. We will stay in the lodge in twin bunk beds (bedding is not provided). College students will be housed with other college students and high schoolers will be housed with high school students and adult chaperones. Participants can register with their group OR as an individual.
There is limited space for vendors who have leadership opportunities for high school or college students at our resource fair on Sunday afternoon. If your organization is interested in participating in our vendor fair – you can find more information and a registration form by emailing [email protected].
WE ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT OUR SPEAKER! Here’s a little about her: Janice Watts Yates serves as the Director of Adult Discipleship at Decatur First UMC in Decatur, Georgia where she has been on the Decatur First Staff for 11 crazy years. Hailing from North Alabama and a former Sumatanga camper and staffer, Janice has degrees from Birmingham-Southern College and Emory’s Candler School of Theology. She loves strong coffee with cream, her family (and friends who are like family) and helping the people of God make connections with each other.
