It's one thing to built cabinets with painting in mind; you have a lot of options to hide small errors or variances in material. Building cabinets to stain requires a different mindset and a different level of precision and attention to detail.

Sometimes customers complain about the strangest things. Customer thinks a baluster is upside down. I tried to explain that it's "artistically arranged" to provide maximum Feng shui and readily draw the eye. It takes a lot of skill and experience to bring this level professionalism to a project.
