Check this out. I love planes, both wood and air, but this one is super cool. It can be used as a swim platform.

I had the privilege of making the teak and holly ply panels for the floor which can be seen in the first minute of the video. Stick around for floating takeoffs and landings. Half Fast Flying Adventures

Bench got installed in the loft of the ski condo. The bench is 90” long and replaces a similarly sized dresser. This will hopefully provide a landing space for suitcases and bodies gearing up. There are some storage bins underneath to mimic some of what a dresser did without the bulk of a large piece of furniture.

A bunch of hanging hooks arranged on a spent ski above the bench will be handy as well for this relatively small loft space.

No trees were harmed in the making of this table.

I finally got a chance to finish a project that will reside on my own deck. I made this stainless steel and granite outdoor table with some help.

Trackside Welding bent the legs and cut out the structural medallion that Diane Dubansky Haase designed. The table seats 6 right now but I made the base large enough to accept a longer top sometime in the future.

I try not to do a lot of restoration work but a client asked me if I could put this super interesting deacons bench back together. It had been sitting around for years and was in many pieces in their garage. Almost every part of this was already separated or coming apart. I broke each joint apart, took out all of the fasteners from previous repairs then shaved the miters back to square. Every dowel joint was filled and new floating tenons mortised in to reinforce each joint. This is a functional and not a historical restoration and with modern adhesives and techniques should hold up as well or better than the original construction.

A huge thanks to Rickard for taking on the applied carving repairs. Without that the whole project would not have been worth while.

Picture of original condition when owner found it sticking out of a construction dumpster 30 years ago. He did the stripping before I got involved so I never saw how unattractive it was originally. It was much prettier as a box of pieces without the paint and gold leaf when I picked it up.

This cherry and curly maple bench has lid that opens on hidden hinges and is supported by a soft close locking stays. The subtle curve at the bottom of the face lifts the body and softens the lines while accenting the curly maple panels. Hidden under the lid there is a sliding box made of spalted soft maple with a padded bottom.
