Mimi is currently back in the vet for boarding as his morning feeder is overseas. and dr have asked to repeat a basic blood test to check on his liver and etc. Test results have return and all is good..! He will be back on Tuesday!
P.s We will be keeping mimi's appeal. Because he will likely need a constantly supply of prescription diet and endless p*epad..
A kind neighbour have ordered a wheely for him and we will update as he gets to try it on. I've also ordered a drag bag for him to help him move around.
We will be removing the cage and making the area suitable for him soon. Thanks for helping mimi.
Thank you everyone for helping this silly boy once again...
He seems able to p*e by himself but we are still going up twice a day to feed and help clean him. We will look at getting wheelies for him slowly. Thank you everyone once again..
We are still waiting for his p**p to harden if not we will bring him back to see the vet.
New photos uploaded.
Mimi and auntie urgently need help again… 💔
22 may - mimi the flower boy (very popular with the vet nurses) have been discharged. We will slowly be changing auntie house to make it more suitable for him.
19th may - mimi have started eating on his own yesterday so doctor hold back on the decision to put the feeding tube. I was informed he can be discharged soon. He needs to have his p*e expressed 2-3 times daily which his j*p feeder and me will help auntie since she's too old for it. Mimi will stay with her after discharge. If his j*p feeder is not in singapore we will board him with an experienced boarder.
We are still very far from the 2.5k estimated bill.
Our strong mimi have survived 2 health scares within 2 months... so please consider helping him or sharing his story. Thank you.
To help with mimi bill please paynow to 98232002 and state for mimi. Any extra will go to his reviews or if we are considering acupuncture for him next. Thank you everyone.
16th may - visited mi today. He is still not eating. Doctor think its to stress. They will put feeding tube tomorrow if still refuses to eat overnight. I'll bring more food for him tomorrow morning.
On the night of 13 May, I fed Mimi his supper as usual before bringing him upstairs to spend the night with auntie.
Early morning on 14 May, auntie brought him downstairs for his usual p*e/poo routine and to spend time with the other aunties downstairs. At that time, Mimi was still walking normally and seemed perfectly fine.
Around 9am, his Japanese feeder arrived and found Mimi inside the drain, unable to move his hind legs. Auntie was sitting nearby, only about 20m away. Everything happened so suddenly.
He was brought back upstairs immediately. Throughout the day, Mimi showed very little feeling in his hind legs.
Today, we managed to send him to the vet. X-rays thankfully did not show fractures or broken bones, but his bladder was enlarged and the vet had to help express his urine. There was also some blood present in his p*e. At this point, we still do not know the exact cause of his paralysis.
The vet mentioned several possible causes, including infection, spinal trauma, FIP, or other neurological conditions. He is currently being treated for a possible urinary infection while further observation continues.
Because there were no visible external wounds, we cannot be sure what happened. One painful possibility is that he may have been hurt during the short period when auntie was distracted talking nearby. What makes this harder is that another community cat in the same area was suddenly found limping just one day earlier. Thankfully, that cat later recovered, but the incidents happening so close together still left many of us worried and shaken.
No matter what happens next, Mimi will not be abandoned.
His Japanese feeder, another auntie, and I will continue caring for him together. We are prepared to learn how to express his bladder and help auntie care for him long term if needed. We have seen many special-needs and paralysed cats continue to live happy, loved lives.
Mimi is deeply loved. He deserves a chance to fight through this.
Auntie has been blaming herself non-stop and is extremely heartbroken. We hope to ease some of her burden and continue giving Mimi the care he needs.
If you are able to help with his medical expenses, please consider supporting Mimi.
