Set within the forested landscape of Vaniköy, this Istanbul residence by Erdem Hamza unfolds as a study in material, light, and lived experience. Rejecting digital renderings, the architect shaped the home through observation and trial, allowing sunlight, texture, and context to guide each decision. Walnut, marble, and richly layered surfaces define interiors where curves replace rigid geometry, creating a continuous spatial flow. Expansive glazing dissolves the boundary between house, garden, and Bosphorus beyond, while glass, wood, and handcrafted details maintain a quiet dialogue between nature and design. More than a composition of spaces, the project reflects a way of living, where architecture evolves with its inhabitants and remains in constant motion.
