I’m back to sharing my thoughts.
The AI bubble isn’t bursting because the technology is bad. It’s bursting because the businesses running it can’t survive without hype cycles, circular financing, and constant bailouts. OpenAI can’t pay for compute. Nvidia is propping up data centers just to keep GPU demand alive. Cloudflare went AI-first and lost 24% of its stock value overnight. Three years in, only a few million people are actually paying for any of this. Young people are rejecting it outright. The economic dynamics here are not those of a massive success. It looks like a flimsy house of cards. The technology itself is genuinely useful. I use it (locally). LLMs will stick around, running quietly on local hardware, doing the things they’re actually good at. But the bubble? That part might finally be ending.
