“Girls have to cook, clean, and take care of the house.”
“Boys are tough and rough.”
Every country has its own social standards and ideal morality. Some regions, especially Asia, have really strong and fixed ideas about how a girl or a boy should behave. Social standards and prejudice create a huge pressure on each individual, forcing us to be an “ideal” figure. Waking up being judged by others for not being an “ideal” girl or boy, for not behaving “appropriately” according to tons of gender stereotypes is annoying and exhausting. But it’s time to change! There’s nothing wrong with a girl playing soccer or a boy doing ballet, none of those “it’s the girls/boys thing” really matters. “Regardless of where you live in, gender equality is a fundamental human right,” (United Nations, n.d.).
Be confident. Be creative. Be yourself.
