I define pride as accepting who I really am and not being afraid to show it.
I used to be confused and scared to express myself, fearful of what others may think or say. However, I came across people who encouraged me, accepted me, and showed me that being different is perfectly acceptable. Because of them, I found the courage to shine.
Now, as a coach at Labrador BVC Bateria's Volleyball Community and a youth leader, I've made it my mission to provide a safe environment in which young people may be themselves without fear. I know what it feels like to doubt yourself, and how life-changing it is when someone simply believes in you. Every training session and every conversation is all an opportunity to inspire, encourage, and tell them that they belong.
This journey, both mine and theirs, is a gift I hold close to my heart.
To anyone who’s still figuring things out, take your time. You are loved exactly as you are, and you are not alone. Keep going.
