Big impact to Chinese clients.
Chinese Feng Shui construction focuses on maximizing positive Qi (energy) flow, with key beliefs centering on South-facing, square-shaped homes, proper site selection (often with hills behind and water in front), and avoiding locations with "sha" (negative) energy like T-junctions.
It prioritizes harmony, balance of the five elements, and unobstructed, bright layouts to foster health and prosperity.
Site Selection and Exterior
* South-Facing Orientation: Ideally, homes face south to maximize sunlight and positive energy, while some avoid north-facing homes believed to bring bad luck.
* "Back to Hill, Face to Water": A U-shaped formation with hills behind (representing support) and open, water-facing space in front (representing prosperity) is ideal.
* Surrounding Environment: Avoid homes at the end of T-junctions, near fast roads (which cause negative, fast-moving energy), near dead trees, or, in some cases, with walls higher than the house.
* Shape: Square or rectangle layouts are preferred to represent stability and balance.
Layout and Interior
* The Entrance (Qi Mouth): The front door must be clear of clutter to allow positive energy in. It should not align directly with the back door.
* Center of the Home: The center should remain open and uncluttered; ideally, a living room is located here to promote prosperity.
* Kitchen and Bathrooms: Avoid placing kitchens or bathrooms in the Northwest area. The bathroom and kitchen doors should not face each other, nor should the kitchen be immediately visible upon entering the home.
* Bedroom Placement: Beds should be in a commanding position (facing the door but not in direct line with it).
* Mirrors: Should not be placed directly facing a bed.
Construction and Design Features
* Curves and Flow: While the structure is rectangular, interior, garden, and walkway designs should use curves to allow energy to circulate smoothly, rather than sharp, fast, or blocked paths.
* Lighting: Maximum natural light is essential to keep energy levels high.
* Natural Materials: Use wood, metal, and other natural materials to balance the five elements (wood, fire, earth, metal, water).
Moving In and Initial Setup
* Light Activation: Leaving lights on for three days before moving in is thought to fill the house with "Yang" (positive) energy.
* Cleansing: Sprinkling salt and rice is a traditional ritual to purify the space and remove negative energy.
