Trophies made and ready to be given to true surfing champions at the New Brighton Boardriders Club here in Christchurch 🌊🏄🏻‍♀️🏄🏽‍♂️

The trophies are made from reclaimed Rimu and Laser engraved with beautifully intricate patterns and lettering. 🏆

Finished with 3 coats of polyurethane ✨

✨The Humidor ✨
Rimu with Black Walnut Inlay for the exterior.

Interior is Yellow Alaskan Cedar (Chamaecyparis Nootkatensis) & Western Red Cedar (Thuja Plicata)

The ideal cedar to use is Spanish Cedar (Cedrela odorata) which is a species related to the mahogany family 🌲

Procuring Spanish Cedar to New Zealand is difficult and extremely expensive 🇳🇿💰.
So I have used alternative cedars as a substitute but they still have similar properties.

The use of different cedars have been a long time debate as they can be more aromatic and overtime alter the taste experience of the ci**rs.

What are your thoughts on this??

The Exterior of the humidor was finished with linseed oil ✨

Macrocarpa live edge table with hairpin legs 1.4m x 550mm.

The timber was reclaimed from an old school yard outdoor bench table.

With some TLC and nourishment, it now has a new lease of life ✨

Bow tie keys and patches help to fill the old bolt holes and add character.

The table has been finished with a Raw Linseed oil and turpentine Mixture ✨🪵
