Meet Karen Mudd. Owner of the most highly-esteemed, quality-focused Oriental rug importer in the north Houston area, Woodlands Oriental Rug Gallery. Karen and I met several years ago when I approached her to participate in my new project (at that time - VIVA - The Woodlands Magazine!) Today, after many years of not seeing her, I walked into her store as I needed to finalize a Design project and I was so touched!!! Karen was at the store. This amazing lady and friend, who welcomed me with the most beautiful smile and hug as she called my name with such excitement and surprise, expanded my heart in so many ways!

We shared about each other and hugged several times and the connection was so special. I couldn't help but let her know how sometimes you meet people that even though you see only one time, they will make an impact on you for the rest of your life and she was one of those to me (although I’ve seen her more than once, but not that often).

Karen and her husband Don are closing the store after serving residents of The Woodlands since 2001, upon the foundations of exceptional quality, superior customer service, and their extensive knowledge of hand-woven Oriental rugs and tapestries.
