Garlic farming is a rewarding crop if you choose the right variety and manage it well. In many parts of kenya the climate and soil conditions are quite suitable for garlic cultivation.

Area's like Ukambani, Kajiado, isinya, voi, taita taveta, kilifi and kwale I would recommend considering the malawi giant variety, which is well-suited to the local conditions. This variety is known for its good yield and resistance to common pests and diseases. Another option is the Elephant garlic variety, which also performs well in the highland areas of Kenya.

When selecting garlic seed, it's important to choose healthy, well Germinated disease-free garlic cloves. with no signs of mold or damage. Since you're planning to sow soon make sure the cloves are well-dried and stored in a cool, dry place until planting...

Before planting, prepare your soil by ensuring it's well-drained and rich in organic matter. You might want to add some well-rotted manure or compost to improve soil fertility. Plant the cloves about 2cm deep and 8-10 cm apart, with the pointed end facing upwards.
