Starting a quarrel is like breaching a dam so drop the matter before a dispite breaks out.

As charcoal to embers,
and as wood to fire,
so starting up a quarrel produces strife.

As churning the milk produces butter
and as twisting the nose produces blood
so stirring up anger produces strife.

Drive out the mocker and out goes quarrels and insults.

Remove the dross from the silver
and out comes material for the silversmith.

Remove the wicked from the Kings presence and his throne shall be established through righteousness.

A wise king delights in a truthful servant.

24/10/2013

Do not exalt yourself in the Kings presence. It is better for him to say come up here than for him to humiliate you before a noble man.

See, When you sit to dine with a ruler, note well what is set before you. Put a knife to you throat if you're given unto gluttony.
Then feed him the gift

Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before him.
Just feed him the gift.

It is your good deeds that shall put to silence the ignorant talk of foolish men.
Display the gift.

It is the gift that opens way for the giver and ushers him into the presence of the great.
Sharpen the gift

Even where a rulers anger rises against you, do not leave your post. Calmness can lay great errors to rest. You feed him the gift.

For a gift given in secret pacifies anger, a gift concealed in the cloak pacifies great wrath.
Talk of the gift

Do you see a man skilled in his work? He shall serve before Kings not before obscure men.
Give yourself unto the gift
