Operation Bring Education To Pokot

I was motivated to create this page because of the fact that West Pokot County and the so-called Pokot nation is one of the most illiterate in Kenya. I strongly believe that it is for that reason that problems like cattle rustling, poor infrastructure, preventable diseases, unemployment, border conflicts, food insecurity and so on are synonymous with Pokots. With education, West Pokot County can a

chieve great in terms of development. A few years back, Dr. Bob Moriarty and Dr. Karen Moriarty,who are friends of mine from the United states recommended for me read to me the book Three Cups Of Tea by Greg Mortenson who was touched by the ignorance of children in Pakistan while he was on a tour. That experience motivated him to build more than 93 schools in Pakistan and form Central Asia Institute. I personally wrote to Greg to seek his support and he said he is yet to go beyond Asia. Like Greg, I want to make a difference in our children through education. I don't mind how long it will take but with like-minded people, it is possible. Stand up to be counted and support me in whichever way....a book, timber, nail, money, iron sheets, sand.
