Hi to all the WSF alumni,
My name is Nina Fiekers, I used to be a student at Kopernikus Gymnasium in Rheine, Germany, and got to be part of the World School Forum in 2008 - which I still consider one of the best and most touching experiences I've made in my life so far.
Just recently, I sent a message to Daryoosh Matsudaira thanking him for all his efforts he has put and continues to put in bringing people together from all across the world and making World School Forum such a great experience. In his response, he told me about this great idea for the 20th anniversary celebration of WSF which is going to take place from Oct. 24th to Nov. 5th this year and asked if I could share with as many people as possible.
As this year's WSF is going to be particularly special with the start of a three year celebration of its 20th year anniversary, he thought of having alumni students recording very short videos of themselves, giving an introduction (name, country and year of participation) and talking a little bit about what was so special about WSF. He would like to have some of us talk about how it would be good to make sure to sit with as many different people during the meals as possible, to talk slowly to make sure everyone has a chance to understand and to treasure each and every moment. You can pick one specific topic that comes to your mind and that he can show during this year's WSF. Some of us could even talk about the different performances and how it is normal to be nervous, but also how cool it is to have all these different people supporting you and even starting to be involved in the performances. It's basically about giving some advice to the students who participate this year and / or making them excited about WSF.
A quick summary again for the video contents:
- name
- country
- year of participation
- what you're doing right now (esp. relating to making a difference)
- the message to this year's participants
- end with "Happy birthday, World School"
Daryoosh would like to have as many contributions as possible.
So please go ahead and FORWARD this message to anyone you know who has ever gone to one of the World School Forums, not matter which
year.
Any contribution will be highly appreciated. Please send a message to the official World School Facebook site and attach the video as a file. If it seems to not be working, keep trying. Both Daryoosh and I tested it to see if it works and were successful in sending videos. Here's the link to the site:

World School has given us so much (treasurable moments and precious memories, friends for life etc.) - now it's our time to give something back and MAKE A DIFFERENCE by helping Daryoosh Matsudaira in making this year's WSF even more special 🙂
The World School was initiated in 1997 by Masaki Matsudaira, the former Chairman and present advisor to the board of trustees of Kanto International School which is located in Tokyo, Japan.
