Military spouse entrepreneurship can be the answer to what career is compatible with the military. Starting your own business is a way to ensure you don’t have to look for a new job come PCS time. However, sometimes it’s more challenging to move a business than start one.

Lauren has always been the kid that loved organization. As soon as she learned the alphabet, she organized her families Disney tapes. So it made all too much sense when Lauren became a Certified Professional Organizer. And she’s got plenty of advice for fellow military spouses.

It’s happening! Can’t wait to settle into our tiny Italian home. We lost a huge basement office space, two bathrooms, a dining room, and literally aaaallll the closets going from Virginia to Vicenza so this professional organizer has her work cut out for her! (Also, can’t wait to get this government-leased yard full of weeds under control!)

One of the things I loved the summer I spent in Italy — 15 years ago 😬 — was the beautiful stationery and awesome Stabilo pens! Was very happy to find nothing has changed in the last decade and a half in that department!

Found: the perfect long haul travel outfit!
Requirements: all black in case the toddler spills something on me, comfy waistband, layers for 12 hours of flights, no possible way to show my a$$ to anyone on the plane as I wrangle a kiddo and get comfy to sleep (Ha. Why did I think sleep was possible traveling with an 18 month old???)

If this luggage could talk…it would have a lot of stories of being packed and repacked (and repacked a second + third time) in the insanity that has been the past few weeks. Par for the course for an overseas military move, our leisurely little visit with family and friends in Texas quickly turned into a logistical nightmare when our visas were unexpectedly held up. Miraculously, the day before MaCayn was going to fly out without us (and no idea when our visas would come through — 5 days? 5 weeks?? 5 months???), we found out they were being overnighted to us…but would arrive a few hours too late for us to make our original flights. Cut to us frantically rebooking tickets and repacking again so we could go as a family. Incredibly thankful for family who stepped in to help us — and so, so grateful for the fact that I don’t have to fly solo internationally with an 18 month old. 😬 Italy, here we come!
