STREET ART FRAGMENTS - a photographic journey into street art

La fotografia come mezzo per fermare la temporaneità di opere altrimenti destinate all'oblio. L'era attuale è frenetica, veloce: il tempo scorre impetuoso, va fermato, racchiuso prima che sfumi via senza lasciare traccia. È così che Costanza Sartoris ferma ciò che vede: con la sua macchi

na fotografica blocca immagini, frammenti di luoghi noti o sconosciuti scegliendo come soggetti opere impregnate dell'essenza stessa della caducità temporale, ovvero rappresentazioni di artisti che hanno scelto la strada come mezzo su cui esprimersi. Un'attenta scelta fotografica di graffiti creati da street artists celebri, come ad esempio Banksy, ROA, Blu, Swoon e C215, o sconosciuti, ma non per questo privi di forza espressiva. Una mostra inusuale, temporanea, così come lo sono i viaggi, la fotografia e la street art. Oggetto della ricerca è infatti la temporaneità, legame tra i tre elementi messi a paradigma. Una visione innovativa per permettere anche ai giovani, come la stessa fotografa, di avvicinarsi all'arte e viverla così come nasce, spontanea e libera dal circuito artistico tradizionale. really interesting article upon gender studies and street art

4 years ago I've organized a female-only street art show: it wasn't to demonstrate female creativity its different from male's one, it was to make people understand that the world of street art was not only made by men

it's good that after some years some critical voices start to rise and question the "female street art" label: this is a symptom the field is now open to accept gender differences as equal, evaluating the artists only by their work ^_^
