The quest of a small craftsmanship activity which later on turned into a solid global corporation has been complex and undergone lots of changes, just like a symphony. Its constant is the expertise in creating and listening to each speaker, pursuing a scientific approach without missing its two main objectives: emotion and music. The early '80s witnessed the birth of the Snail, a prototype produce
d in few pairs, which later on gave life to the Parva, the Minima and the Electa Amator. The '90s started with the Extrema (1991), reflecting one of the highest technical and musical expressions of the dynamic speakers at the time, and then carried on with the Guarneri (1993), an uncommonly shaped monitor, inspired by the lute shape. Once the Concert (1995) and Home (1999) collections came to light, Sonus faber began addressing to increasingly larger groups of enthusiasts. In 1998 the Amati was born, summa of all the previous handmade creations and a concentrate of Italian craftsmanship and Northern European technology aiming at the perfection of the loudspeakers. The Cremona collection ably combining the Hi-Fi with the Home Video was created in 2002, followed in 2004 by the Stradivari Homage, a reference loudspeaker for the Homage collection that developed new concepts concerning the creation of the cabinet. In recent years two new collections were presented, the Toy (2008) and the Liuto (2009), which skillfully combine high acoustic performances at an affordable price.
2010: birth of the Sonus faber, the absolute reference.
