I am industrial designer from raffles design institute (Singapore) and interior designer with experience of more then 5 years. Bespoke Products, Furniture, lighting, kitchen and other conceptual designs are some area of interest

I gained invaluable experience on the luxury market of made to measure products: mostly furniture, lighting, bathroom and kitchen design and fashion products. I designed

bespoke products of all scales, from small products like a cabinet handle, medium alike a bespoke stainless steel kitchen sink to a large and highly complex furniture engineered piece. Being part of Vie Creative studio an interior and architecture firm and its in-house design team, I was involved in a unique, one-to-one service. I worked closely with each client and the project manager to bring our ideas to life. My main duties were the design of bespoke furniture, products and functional lighting. It was an interesting time and I was a bit spoil, since our clients opted for bolder custom-built designs and I always enjoy large budgets to work with. This served me as the perfect ground to be creative while making truly tailored spaces that combine perfectly luxury and functionality. My clients were design conscious and appreciated the fine detail on each of our solutions. However I was aware of costing and always kept a great quality cost ratio. My biggest achievement were furniture pieces that are going to be pass proudly generation after generation of our client's family. As a part of design team working for fashion and retail brand products like back packs and soft goods, sunglasses and merchandising my responsibilities as a Product Designer are spread throughout all stages of the design and development process. Starting from initial brief consideration and research, followed by in-depth market analysis and design language presentation with sketch proposals, through to development of the initial and final CAD DATA for the manufacture and tooling release, as well as managing off-tool samples feedback till the Pilot Tool Run and production. My versatile background allowing me to undertake unique approach for every project to communicate and highlight it's best individual opportunities and innovative vision. This whole exiting experience supported by my colleagues in team and other associates, where by liaising on a daily bases with factories we develop and engineer products ready for manufacture within strict deadlines and within required target costs, alongside Brand managers to ensure the best possible outcome of each project, working closely together to take best ideas into production. Specialties: Proficient on AutoCAD 2011, detailing, plans and technical drawing execution, 3D visualizations with Sketch up ,solid works,3s max, Proficient on photo-retouching and visuals creation with Photoshop, proficient on Illustrator and other graphic presentation software’s. Design of bespoke high-end residential interiors and furniture's, kitchen and bathroom furniture, lighting and one off products' solutions of all kinds.

Bespoke Furniture isn’t something that everyone has heard about, and isn’t a phrase everyone will use! So I’m going to answer this question and give some questions and pointers that will help you decide whether or not it is right for you!

WHAT IS BESPOKE FURNITURE?

Bespoke Furniture is custom made furniture designed for exactly what you need, where you need it for and exactly how you want it to look. It’s really about you get exactly what you want whilst getting the best use of your space. Bespoke Furniture will vary in what the actual product is, whether it’s a Kitchen, Bathroom, Reception Desk, or Home Office… You probably don’t realise it, but every day you will be surrounded by Bespoke Furniture in some shape or form!

WHAT FORM DOES BESPOKE FURNITURE COME IN?

First of all Bespoke Furniture can come in many shapes and sizes! But what things can you get from a Bespoke Furniture Company/Designer ? What products do we actually supply? I have made a little list of typical items that what we make. However if you are looking for something a bit more unique that isn’t on this list… all you have to do is ask! That’s one of the amazing benefits of using designer like us… we can create anything you want!

As you can see Bespoke Furniture pretty much covers all around the board. So why would you want to get Bespoke Furniture instead of mass-produced furniture? What is the difference in their furniture and say, IKEA’s?
THE BENEFITS OF BESPOKE FURNITURE
1. You’re Unlimited
With mass-produced furniture you are always going to be limited to the sizes, colours and styles available, whereas with bespoke furniture you have to opportunity to decide exactly what colour, shape and size your furniture will be. The end product is that you will own something that no one else has, a completely unique piece made to suit your tastes and needs.
2. Higher Quality
Many of our clients are looking for something that is of a much higher quality than what is available off the shelf. People who purchase Bespoke Furniture are looking for something that is built to last, and to achieve that you have to use better materials that can provide longevity.
This type of furniture isn’t just going to be created overnight. You can’t go into a store and walk out with what you want then and there. It takes time to create something that is handcrafted and specific to your requirements. So generally you will have to wait from anywhere around 4 weeks to 12 weeks. The larger the product or quantity, the longer it will take to deliver.
For most people their biggest concern when it comes to Bespoke Furniture is cost… You will pay more, but you will ultimately get more. You are getting so much more with furniture that is tailored specifically to your needs, and the company has to do more. They have to advise, design, purchase materials, create and install. I always come back to the general rule that “the better the quality, the higher the cost”.
3. Longevity
I know I’ve mentioned it already, but because furniture makers put so much passion and thought into what they create they are more likely to want to care for that furniture long-term. And because it lasts so much longer than any mass-produced piece it can be appreciated for years, moved house to house and even passed down through generations.
4. Unique Design
By going with a Bespoke Furniture Company you are getting experts to design something completely personal to you. You get taken along through the process so together you can achieve a piece of furniture that is exactly as you want it. You won’t have to compromise on any aspects of design, but instead you’ll get a completely unique piece…
5. On Hand Experts
Because you work so closely with a company to get what you want, the guidance and advice they offer is priceless. In my opinion the best benefit of going bespoke is you get incredibly talented craftsman working on your project. I really don’t think craftsman gets enough recognition, everything they create is beautiful… Craftsman are the ones who bring your dreams to life. I love seeing how passionate the men in our workshop are about projects we do. As a result, when our customers come to see the progress of their project and they can speak to the people who are actually making it, it makes the whole experience ten times better for them.

IS BESPOKE FURNITURE RIGHT FOR ME?

First of all figuring out if Bespoke Furniture is for you can be tricky. It’s takes a lot of consideration before you buy Bespoke Furniture. Because this isn’t going to be a normal piece of furniture, it’s going to be something a lot more personal to you…
So I have listed a few questions below to help you decide whether or not you would want to purchase Bespoke Furniture… Whether its a Kitchen, Boardroom Table or a Reception Desk.
Is quality more important than price?

Elements of Interior Design:

When thinking about interior design, words like creativity and flair immediately spring to mind – but many would be surprised to find there is a degree of science involved. Professional interior
designers will usually follow a set of informal “rules”, based on specific interior design principles and elements. These interior design elements include space, line, forms, light, color, texture and pattern. Keeping them balanced is the key to creating an aesthetically pleasing interior.

In addition to enhancing the appearance of a room, getting these elements to work together in harmony will also bring an increased functionality. As a minimum, the following seven elements should always be considered in the creation of any interior.

Looking to get a head start on your next project? Our interior design team can help!
