I visit educational institutes (schools , colleges) often ,as some of my products are related to education sector. I found very interesting thing. Senior management/ owner leaves the decision to implement or not implement certain software, on computer teacher or even a clerk who knows little bit about computer.
Logic behind they give is their inability to understand computers and softwares. I want to tell these friends, its not computer knowledge or software knowledge that empowers you to take a business decision but its business sense that guides you. You dont need to understand how computer languages works or operating system works, you need to understand how this software is going to help me in my business. How this software is going to save my cost , increase accountability in my org, how i am going to achieve process automation with this. And for this, nobody can match you if you are a businessman truly.
So dont be a entrepreneur just for name sake , sitting idle on long back chair. Go in details, understand advantages/disadvantages and say 'yes' or 'no' yourself so that you dont blame others ever.
