The Tropical Wall

It's always been on my mind to do this for a long time now, a month long work and it's done. Did a coat of clear varnish on the painting to give it a bit of shine and to preserve it. The whole process was a bit overwhelming but worth it :)

Kailpodh is celebrated in the month of September. This festival marks an end to the sowing season and alerts men to prepare for the protection of their crops from the wild. Traditionally, Kodavas are a martial race and depended on their guns for livelihood. It is in this context that arms and ammunitions have become an integral part of their culture. The weapons used to protect the crop hence are taken and decorated on this day and pooja is offered. Kailpodh accounts for a great feast and games and sports in the village.
