This dresser has been used by successive generations of the same family, at some point the original paint was removed and replaced with wax. In order to be cleaned and repaired, it was necessary to disassemble the dresser. Disassembling and regluing restores the strength and rigidity of the carcase and door frames; arresting further degeneration and ensuring a long service life.
