Forum Polonia Ireland, Public Affairs Institute (Poland), Providus (Latvia) and Immigrant Council of Ireland would like to invite you to the public presentation of a project:

Energising mobile citizens' participation - the political internship programme

Date: Monday, 12th of December
Time: 11 am - 1 pm
Venue: Siptu, Dublin 1

The aim of this event is to give an overview of the internship scheme and to discuss why and how to encourage immigrants’ civic engagement and to promote active citizenship in their communities.

Background note: The internship programme for community leaders was set up to allow them to learn how their local government work and how their local councilors’ work. A number of Dublin City Council councillors agreed to mentor those migrant leaders and enable them to explore duties and responsibilities of a councillor and functions of local authorities in Ireland. The three months long internships programme started in September 2016 and was accompanied by intense training for its participants. The forthcoming seminar will provide an opportunity to talk about what leaders have learned from their internships and trainings but will also allow to discuss migrant engagement in local politics, challenges they are facing and how to overcome these.

The seminar will be attended by academics from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland as well as by representatives from Latvian, Lithuanian and Polish Embassies.

Great event to celebrate interculturalism!
"We at the Asian/ Irish Cultural Festival are very excited to announce that our friends from the Indonesian Community are putting on a spectacular Culture Night and Fashion Show this Sunday, the 13th of November from 4.30pm-7.30pm at 'The Purty Kitchen' in Dun Laoghaire!
Attendees will be treated to the very best in Indonesian culture, including;
Gamelan Performances.
Traditional Dances and a fashion show featuring modern clothes employing traditional fabrics such as batik, ikat ( hand woven fabric) and traditional patterns of tie dye!!
We're going along and we encourage everyone else to join us in this celebration of all things Indonesian!"
