My husband often asks if the work on restoring and decorating this house will end any time soon, and all I can do is laugh. Even if it wasn't this spacious and presented that many styling opportunities, seasonal shifts alone are enough to keep us busy. I believe a home is as alive as the people living in it.
There is no doubt that those rare moments we manage to steal from our schedules to spend them here are that much more meaningful as the house is more welcoming. Every time we pause to soak up the mood of this place we get new ideas of what could be done to further elevate it. So we plan our budget meticulously and take it step by step.
Our recent renovation included a new, built-in, solid oak kitchen, among other things. It is fully equipped for those inspired to experiment with the region's gastronomy favourites, or simply love a home-cooked meal. Needless to say, it quickly became our favourite part of the house and even inspired an original recipe for a perfect summer dinner. A super simple one, if you are curious; baby spinach, olive oil, cream cheese, some garlic, and pine nuts are all you need. Blended and poured over streaming pasta, like homemade fuzi pasta- the region takes pride in, they make a feast you'll likely repeat.
