After 15 years at 72 Peel Street, we are closing down our shop, O L I V E F O R R E S T (formerly The Green Lantern), at the end of September.

So from now until then we are having a crazy closing down sale. You are welcome to come along and browse through the many bargains we have on offer.

It is not with a heavy heart that we are shutting our doors …..We are excited for what the future holds and are tinkering away on a couple of new and exciting ideas that we plan to hatch in the near future.

We will continue to make our own painted furniture from reclaimed wood using non-toxic paint.
So please email [email protected] anytime if you want to discuss any furniture making ideas you are keen to bring to life.

It has been a very interesting and fun filled 15 years and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our loyal customers for the wonderful years of support and friendship.

Meet the God of fortune 'Cai Shen' at

RED IS THE COLOUR of China and now we have our very own God of fortune 'Cai Shen' here at the shop, lucky us. Here he is standing proud in this very large, almost 6 ft high late 19th century painting. We were so inspired by him we've taken our paint brushes out and are preparing to add a little more colour and designs to some of our furniture. Have a lovely weekend.

We have fallen in love with velvet and linen. It's a great way to add another layer of texture and more colour to your home. We were inspired and are now very busy cutting and sewing lots of lovely cushions.
