Once upon a time there was a frog... or was it a pig? 🤔

Once there was a frog who lived in a well. One day he met a frog from the ocean. The ocean frog told fantastic tales of his ocean and boasted of its vastness. But the well frog could not believe him; he believed his well to be the biggest and most fabulous body of water in the world because he had no reference point, no experience, no reason to think otherwise. So the ocean frog took the well frog to the ocean. Facing the vastness of the ocean, the well frog died of a heart attack.

Realization isn't necessarily lethal. We don't have to be like the well frog, dropping dead when we are exposed to emptiness. If the ocean frog had been a bit more compassionate and skilful, he might have been a better guide, and the well frog wouldn't have died. Perhaps he would have eventually migrated to the ocean.

We don't need a supernatural gift to understand emptiness. It's a matter of education and a willingness to see things in terms of all their parts and hidden causes and conditions. With such an insight, one becomes like a set designer or a camera assistant who goes to the cinema. Professionals see beyond what we see. They see how the camera was positioned, which lenses and lighting equipment were used, how the crowds were computer generated, and all the other cinematic techniques that the audience isn't aware of, and thus for them the illusion is dismantled. Yet the professionals can still enjoy themselves immensely when they go to the cinema.

This is an example of Siddhartha's transcendent humour.

「欽哲漢譯」網站正式上線！

「欽哲漢譯」（DJK Chinese Translation）是在宗薩欽哲仁波切的指示下，由欽哲基金會於2023年護持成立的漢譯計畫，致力於將欽哲傳承歷代上師的重要教法與著作，由藏文翻譯成中文。

自成立以來，「欽哲漢譯」一直側重於透過悉達多本願會為欽哲仁波切的學生提供所需的實修法本。如今，隨著網站的正式上線，「欽哲漢譯」將會以此平台，持續對欽哲傳承的三位主要上師——蔣揚欽哲旺波、宗薩蔣揚欽哲·確吉羅卓、宗薩蔣揚欽哲·圖登確吉嘉措的相關教法與著作進行漢譯、編輯與整理。

「欽哲漢譯」網站的閲覽室將會逐步提供這些中文譯文，內容編排圍繞三位上師展開。您可以依作者尋找，直接瀏覽已經漢譯的某位上師著作；也可以按照祈願讚頌、道歌、教示、佛教哲學、歷史傳記、成就法、儀式等八大文類瀏覽，從不同角度認識這些教法。願這座閱覽室，成為您親近欽哲傳承教法的一處所在。

We are excited to announce the launch of the DJK Chinese Translation project’s website!

DJK Chinese Translation (DJKCT; 欽哲漢譯) is dedicated to translating the key works of the Khyentse lineage masters from Tibetan into Chinese. Under Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche’s guidance, the project was initiated by Khyentse Foundation in 2023 and is fully supported by the foundation.

With the official launch of its website, the project will use this platform to gradually offer reliable Chinese translations of a variety of works by the three main Khyentse lineage masters to both Buddhist practitioners and students.

May DJKCT’s reading room become a place for all Chinese speakers to connect with the Khyentse lineage teachings!

Khyentse Vision Project wishes you an invigorating Guru Rinpoche Day!

On this auspicious occasion, we are delighted to invite you to a special event with Siddhartha's Intent instructor Chris Jay on the practice of scolding. During his talk, Chris will explore the way Buddhist teachers have long used blunt, unsparing language as a deliberate tool—not to diagnose a defect in the student, but to clear away what obscures what they already are.

Drawing on Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo's 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘢 𝘠𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘢𝘨𝘦 and a self-admonition prayer from the Longchen Nyingtik Ngöndro, Chris will explore what separates a sharp word that energizes practice from one that produces only guilt—and of course, share stories of scoldings received, witnessed, and perhaps given.

Chris Jay has been a dharma practitioner for over five decades, beginning in a Zen tradition in 1970 before meeting Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche, under whose direction he completed a three-year retreat. He has since served as an instructor at Siddhartha's Intent, guiding Ngöndro and sādhana students and leading practices and retreats both online and in person.
