Simon Hopper established Simon Charles Joinery - bespoke joinery services, he has over 15 years experience in the joinery/building

industry. On leaving school, Simon did a 3 year apprenticeship whilst working at a local furniture manufacturer, Simon also attended Jacob Kramer Collage in Leeds on a day release basis and gained his City and Guilds qualification. We have a small dedicated team of skilled, qualified and experienced carpenters and joiners who pride themselves in producing high quality products coupled with a reliable and friendly, yet professional, service. Based in Whixley between Harrogate and York, close to the A1, we are ideally located to cover all of North Yorkshire. Where possible, our products are supplied using FSC and PEFC chain of custody certified timber from legally and sustainably managed forests, meeting economic and ecological standards. We’re always on hand to discuss and provide advice regarding our joinery services, whether you’re at the initial design stage or you’re looking for us to develop and install your plans. This customer wanted his original painted softwood staircase turning into an oak staircase.

The old handrail, spindles and baserail were removed. We then encased the original painted newel posts and stair string in oak and then fitted an oak baserail, spindles and handrail.
