January is always a challenge for horses and their owners alike. Horses at grass or mud ! can get fed up, try if your time allows it, to split any extra forage feed times into 3 instead of 2 you would be amazed at how much this could brighten their day. Stabled horses will benefit from a new mineral lick or snackaball being introduced for a couple of hours a day too.

Bonfire night approaching. Always a hard time for horses and owners. Stabled horses often benefit from having a radio on at a good level to equalise some of the sounds out. And maybe an extra treat of a snacker ball on new lick.
Field horses may be more settled if they can safely have some extra forage to keep them occupied. I always put some haynets up.

Lovely day with fewer horse flies time for some land management !

A long time since I have posted anything. Life is so busy, have worked with some wonderful giving horses over the last year . And the ones that weren't so giving to start with trusted and understood with time and patience. Happy horses are a joy to be around. And the joy of seeing the challenging ones going strength and confidence is priceless .

Give your hands a chance- wear proper gloves when doing groundwork.

Ask yourself if your horse is really ignoring your aids- or maybe he just doesn't understand them .
