Do you have an area in your home which you feel has not reached its full storage potential? Maybe an area off your laundry or a nice sized porch which is wasting valuable space?

As you come in from your garden, the most frustrating thing is how the dirt from your toils spreads through your home due to not having a dedicated area to leave your dirty coat and boots etc. Similarly coming in from a lengthy dog walk or just from heavy rain and having nothing in your porch area to leave outside clothing before walking through your hallway can be a problem.

Boot rooms are becoming more and more popular these days. For those of us who love the great outdoors but also the comforts of a clean environment, a dedicated area to dress down could be just what you need to keep your home clean and tidy.

This week we had a porch area in a recently renovated, beautiful cottage. It was a lovely, large space and quite clearly would benefit from some useful and stylish storage. The specification for design was shoe and coat storage with an area to sit and change footwear, and baskets to store the replacement indoor essentials (slippers etc).

The design features chosen by the customer were a shaker door in forest green. Tongue and groove end panels and baskets for that country feel. All very sympathetic to the style of property. Finished with stepped forward fillers and plinths for that luxurious framed door look. They were so delighted with the end result that we will be returning next month to do a similar fit on the opposite side of the porch to compliment the existing.

Good Morning
Our sliding wardrobes are a real favourite for customers who have limited space in their bedroom. Sometimes if you were to fit a standard hinged wardrobe, there wouldn't be enough space to fully open the door. See how much storage space can be created from a 3 door sliding wardrobe. This particular wardrobe has a brushed steel frame and light beige glass with a central dress mirror. Interior is in oak with soft close internal drawers. Our style of fitting can vary, depending on customer preferences and budgets. Here we have an interesting design. This is our flat panel door range. A more reasonably priced solution to your storage needs however quality is never compromised. The reason we can come in at a more competitive price is that all doors/worktops and other components are cut from large boards and flat edged (no pre-moulded panels or edges). This design suits a more modern and contemporary look and we have so many colours and wood grains to choose from. This particular fit was finished in Dark Grey Fine Line with our usual oak interior. On this particular job, all panels & fillers were brought forward to sit in line with the doors & drawers, which gives a more in frame look. On occasions this could be a viable solution if your intention is to keep the existing carcasses and just changing the exterior. Don't forget folks that we also do revamps. This bedroom yesterday was in desperate need of some TLC. The customer had just moved into their new home and realised that the doors were old and the laminate had started to part company from the door blank. We call this a foil lift. As you can see one door was so bad that when the customer tried to repair it they gave up and stripped it right back. The carcass was still very respectable and therefore it was a shame to replace the whole wardrobe. I visited with samples and we got a close colour match. The customer then chose a door style and all components were measured so that we could replace like for like. All that was left to do was wait for the order to come in and we fitted the new components to the existing wardrobe carcass. It looked great and we had another happy customer.

As a bedroom designer, I am always aware that the initial conversation with a customer may not always be what transpires at the end of the job. This young couple asked me to give them an estimate for an arrangement of wardrobes, top box and narrow bedsides. I measured, went away, did CAD drawings and e-mailed them across. They were pleased with what I had designed but then it went a little quiet for a while. I later received a message saying, "So sorry Matt, we have changed our minds and feel that something at the bottom of the bed with wardrobes and an area to put a tv would be more appropriate to our needs". I keep drawings for a short period of time after the initial consultation and therefore I was able to retrieve the room layout. I got to work. I designed a new layout which was to their new specification. They were delighted, the deposit was paid, materials were ordered and job was fitted within a month. All finished in Cashmere, all soft close doors & drawers as standard and all finished in a day. Thanks for reading and please like, comment and share if you like what you see. Fantastic service!!!!! So pleased with our fitted wardrobes. From start to fitting, Matt made the process so easy.

Firstly, we told Matt what sort of wardrobes we wanted, and he turned it into designs which were somehow exactly what we'd visualised.

He left us to review the design and there was no sales pressure. He responded to our many, many questions(!) and offered us alternatives to consider which really helped us feel confident in our choices. We were pleased with the design, so went ahead and were so surprised from the HUGE variety of colours, finishes, styles and handles we could then pick (which gave us more choices, but we weren't rushed). This customer approached and asked me what she could do to make the best of this space. She had recently moved into a new home and unfortunately the previous owners had fitted an air conditioning unit which was in the way, if she were to fit new wardrobes all the way across the whole wall. She needed maximum wardrobe space but to finish the wardrobes in front of the aircon unit would just look odd. I came up with a wardrobe design which had a fitted dressing table on the end which went cleanly under the aircon unit. There was another alcove behind the bedroom door which allowed for a smaller run of wardrobes to help with the storage issue.

Another job completed and another happy customer. An L-shaped fit with a small dresser coming of the left and a corner wardrobe with double hanging. The requirement was also some shelving & internal drawers, which we put in the right hand wardrobe. All finished in Legno White, with a traditional panelled grained door and light oak interior. Soft close doors & drawers as standard on all our wardrobes. Fitted in one long day to minimise disruption to the customer.
