Having studied Art & Design in Carlisle and obtaining his BA Hons degree in Industrial Design at the University of Central Lancashire, Rick worked for many companies and had clients all around the world before eventually setting up FOLD in Whitehaven, Cumbria. Fold furniture was inspired by poorly furnished and badly decorated student houses as well as attending events and festivals where there wa
s little or no seating. Fold furniture is produced from recyclable materials such as cardboard and Correx (polypropylene) and produced entirely in the UK which helps support UK businesses and industry which is important to the company and we try to keep our carbon footprint as low as possible. We want our furniture to be as flexible as our customers needs, tastes and lifestyles aswell as offering an easy end of life solution to its disposal, minimalise its impact on the environment and promote recycling.
