Christmas has arrived early here at Wickham Sharpening! 🥳🎄🦌🎅

I recieved a lovely box of goodies
from Jean-Paul Babin & Lily Baldi-Babin and they came with a lovely personalised touch 😍

I thought to share the contents of my Xmas box as these tools of the trade from CXPRO Industry are amazing 🙌

First up out the box was curved CBN stones which are an instant game changer when servicing curved scissors. They make sharpening all curve scissors (including Asian Fusion) so much easier!!! ✂️💪

Another game changer for me is this Nigata Pivot stone. It helps fix uneven pivot areas quickly with either a 240 grit or 320 grit stone. Then with a final CBN polish the pivot area is beautiful 😍

And lastly, the amazing UGroomi Odyssey scissors...I did a post on these previously but my wife loves them that much she wanted another pair....and as an added bonus Jean-Paul has personalised them for her 🥰✂️

It was safe to say this pair of cleavers needed a little TLC 😱

With a little elbow grease, a scotchbright mop and edge re-profiling they are now back ready for the kitchen 💪🔪

So I thought this set of Irwin chisels would be a great first post of 2022 🥳

Chisels are a firm favourite of mine to sharpen - nothing beats a mirror finish and a hair popping edge 💪😍

This duo of hairdesser scissors came in for a their first sharpening today 🙌

Those ridelines were polished up and the edges were refreshed and re-convexed where appropriate 💪

Its made my afternoon watching them glide through the test cuts ✂️

Had a very good day with this project and giving a new lease of life back to this heavily damaged dog grooming scissor ✂️😖

The previous sharpener had ground out all the ridelines and given it the same angle edge as a kitchen scissor 🥺☹

After a little bit of TLC and some polish, the scissor now looks and cuts much much better 💪

The last video is very satisfying to see and feel when I test my scissors. The clingfilm picks up any imperfections before I finally test on hair or fur 👦🐶

Its always like Xmas whenever I get new stuff in the workshop 🎅😁

My new Nikken abrasive pads recently arrived and I've been giving them a test run this last week 🥳

I am very happy with the results and they give such a smooth finish after a polish 💪🙌

A very rewarding job in bringing this Groomers equipment back to 💯 from a previous sharpener 😬

Unfortunately some blades were still magnetised - this can cause them to dull quicker 🤦‍♂️😫

The Clipperblades were stripped and cleaned - with all worn parts replaced with brand new Andis parts 🔩🪛⚙

The scissors and incorrect angles on the edges, these were adjusted with all convex edges beautifully resharpened using my new Nikken abrasives from Jean-Paul Babin & Lily Baldi-Babin ✂️🥰😍❤

✅ Worn parts replaced

All done and ready this morning to be put to work ✂️

This knife collection came in for a little spruce up today 🔪

With a little bit of magic 🪄 they now all have razor sharp edges and glide through food instead of pushing it around 😆

They are now all ready for the kitchen tonight 🍗🍖🥖🍠

Been a while since I posted, so here's something to take at look at 👀

Not a bad start to a Friday with this set of chisels which were in need of a freshen up 🔩🪛🔧

Very satisfying to bring a damaged and dull chisel back to life with a mirror finish and hair popping edge 🙌😍

This nice collection came in today for a freshen up and included a couple of Sashimi knives 🔪

Sashimi knives are a single bevel or 'chisel' edge knife, so a polished bevel really compliments it 😍

These are now all ready for the kitchen tomorrow 😉💪
