An office move is can be huge logistical challenge, but it can also be a strategic opportunity.

When approached with foresight and flexibility, it can redefine how your business operates, supports its people and positions itself for future success.

IPPF aimed to consolidate their workforce onto a single floor, creating a unified base that catered to diverse needs. By starting early, we were able to modernise their space with cost-effective solutions.

Early planning made all the difference for IPPF, and it can for your business too. Read our article in full to discover how we worked with IPPF to modernise their space with cost effective solutions (You'll find the link in our bio!)

Some workplaces are designed to accommodate... the best are designed to welcome.

In this short interview, GTA’s Design Manager, Sally Gilliland talks about our work on Channel 4’s Manchester workplace, where we created an inclusive environment supporting neurodiverse needs in a way that feels completely seamless. An approach that also saw GTA shortlisted in the Fit Out of Workplace category at last week’s BCO North Awards!

Most importantly, staff feedback suggests it is doing exactly what it should - helping people feel comfortable, happy, and empowered at work.

This week marks 3 years of our brilliant Sophie Hungate!

Sophie joined us as a Projects Assistant intern 3 years ago and, after a 6-month break to return to her studies, rejoined the team after graduation as Office Manager. More recently, she was promoted to Operations Manager.
Sophie’s hard work has significantly strengthened our processes and operations. She is an integral part of the team, and we’re incredibly grateful for the energy, dedication, and commitment she brings to GTA every day.

It’s been a pleasure to see Sophie’s journey and growth over the past 3 years, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with her.

Congratulations, Sophie!

Construction and demolition account for nearly 40% of global waste.

It’s a staggering statistic, but it also highlights the immense opportunity we have to make a difference.
The Circular Economy, which redefines how we design and build by focusing on reusing, refurbishing, and recycling materials to minimise waste and environmental harm.

Why embracing the Circular Economy is so important workplace design:
✔️Reduces Environmental Impact: Sustainable materials and reclaimed resources cut down on waste and carbon footprints.
✔️Cost Efficiency: Refurbished elements optimise resources and save money in the long run.
✔️Healthier Workspaces: Non-toxic, sustainable materials improve indoor air quality and employee well-being.
✔️Innovation: Adaptable, modular designs encourage creativity and future-proof your office.
✔️Brand Image: Eco-conscious spaces resonate with employees, clients, and partners.

We’re committed to helping businesses lead the charge in sustainable office design. By integrating Circular Economy principles into every stage of our design and build process, we ensure that your new workspace reduces unnecessary waste.

Designing smarter, together.

With hybrid work reshaping office dynamics, reduced occupancy means facilities services need to adapt. Corporate Real Estate (CRE) requires a fundamental shift in operational strategy with static models of space utilisation being no longer viable. Aligning services with actual space usage ensures efficiency and avoids unnecessary costs. In fact building services and resourcing costs can be reduced by by 15 percent or more, according to CBRE.*

We apply these exact principles to lead the market in workplace technology, creating innovative, sustainable workplaces. By integrating smart technologies into our projects, we empower businesses to future-proof their spaces, ensuring they’re not just functional but also cost-effective and environmentally responsible.

This approach allows CRE leaders to move from reactive management to verified, data-driven space optimisation.
Achieving this level of operational agility requires a focus on three critical areas:
👉Modular Office Designs: Physical spaces must adapt to changing needs. Adaptable components allow spaces to scale rapidly without massive costs. At the same time, dynamic resourcing adjusts facility services to match real-time occupancy data.
👉AI and virtual replicas of physical spaces: Artificial intelligence automates routine workflows, shifting human focus to complex problem-solving & providing a real-time virtual replica of your building. This enables proactive maintenance and exact environmental control before issues ever affect your teams. According to Savills, digital twin technology, which creates real-time, data-rich virtual replicas of buildings, is emerging as a powerful tool for integrated project delivery and enhanced facility management.**
👉 Data-Driven ESG Commitments: Sustainability is a strict operational metric. Connected building automation systems monitor occupancy to power down utilities when spaces sit empty. This reduces massive energy footprints, secures green certifications, and protects your teams by optimising air quality and lighting.

Relying on outdated facility management models exposes your portfolio to high costs and operational friction. Prioritising flexible infrastructure gives you the agility to navigate business challenges and reduce your total cost of occupancy.

What happens when you take your team out of the office and into the heart of Soho for a treasure hunt? Fun (and a little chaos.)

The goal? Explore, solve clues, and enjoy the energy of one of London’s most iconic neighbourhoods together.
It was slightly chaotic at times, and exactly the kind of challenge we love!

Well done to the GTA team and a particular congratulations to Peter Rice-Evans, David Joseph Corbisiero and Sally Gilliland who completed the treasure hunt in first place and got 100% of the answers and challenges correct!

Already thinking about the next adventure….!
