Finally got my first class parcel from DPD, better late than never…maybe!
£45 box of sandpaper arrived 24h late, what does DPD stand for anyway? Delayed Parcel Damaged?

One side of the beech table skimmed, flipped over to do the reverse side. The best part is that while skimming it, at least it’s getting a little less heavy 😅

Well, that is the burry oak river table top married to the beautiful olive ash table frame that Patrick Baxter has hand crafted for it.
Patrick has made such a great job carving this frame to perfection that when seen with the top on, it far exceeded my expectations, it just looks incredible. All this speciality kiln dried hardwood was supplied by Patrick himself. Today, the table is heading south to its new home where we will hopefully see more footage of it in its natural surroundings. It will be located beside an indoor swimming pool where it will be used mostly for playing games on.
A fantastic and successful coalition project with Patrick and we have some happy clients at the end of our efforts which is always the goal.

A while back I acquired some 4 seater bar/restaurant tables as a project, I thought I’d strip them back to the wood and experiment with them a little, they are made from solid beech hardwood so very robust. They are going up for grabs so if anyone is looking for a small dining table or a decent size desk, just get in touch.

The burry oak games table top is now ready for transporting to Patrick Baxter Furniture where it will be introduced to the spectacular base he is currently finishing crafting for it. I hope to get some footage of the finished project prior to its collection at the end of next week where it will be taken down south to its new home beside an indoor swimming pool.

Yesterday the oak river top was routed/skimmed flat again on both sides to reveal the natural wood again and is now perfectly flat at just over 45mm thickness ready to begin the sanding process.
