I had a little deal going on with my good friend as we've been discussing painting our front doors for months! This glorious Easter weekend was the perfect weekend to keep our word and get painting. Fast forward today and we both have lovely new front doors courtesy of and a little elbow grease! (Swipe for the before photo) 🀩

Cornish Milk Mineral Paint is an excellent choice for both internal and external woodwork, dry in 30 minutes, it's excellent for inclement weather, and has UV protection for a long lasting colour.

I have chosen to varnish with dead flat Matt, and I have used my own wax for extra protection.

If you would like me to freshen up your frontage DM me for a competitive, no obligation quotation, I'd love to give you a new look for the Spring/Summer - Lord knows we could do with a facelift after the last few years! 😳😳

Well, life got a little hectic and my furniture creations were put on the back burner a wee bit!

I have been given a fantastic opportunity to work on a short contract with a company I used to work with, which has been great for my professional development (and bank balance) πŸ˜‚

I have also completed a few commissions this year, an ercol table and chairs for my parents in Cornish Milk Mineral Paints new colour Melinsey, and some continued work for Glamping at Woodstock Meadows (photos to follow).

I've also been working on a little complimentary sideline for a few months..

I've been developing my own furniture wax, with no nasty ingredients, sustainable packaging and its been fantastic, and a joy to use, beautiful finish on both painted wood and natural grain, so I've decided to start selling it πŸ₯³

Check out my Lemongrass & Ho Wood scented Organic Beeswax Furniture Wax 😍🐝

I shall be selling this introductory batch at Β£12 a tin including shipping, so if you would like to give your existing furniture a little waxy love from me, please send me a DM to place an order :)

And that's a wrap! My last project of the year (I think). I've had this stool since I bought my second house back in about 2003 and this still step stool from IKEA has seen so much action in its almost 20 years I thought it deserved a little facelift. I had some Conish Milk Mineral Paint in Squid Ink leftover from earlier in the year and it compliments my kitchen beautifully πŸ™

Thank you for all the support you have given me this year, to all my customers and supporters it's always so much appreciated. I have some new years resolutions - to buy a really good sander, so buy some really good wax, or try making my own, to stop picking up furniture unless I really need it πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ (good luck with that) and to make a donation to charity each time I sell a piece (more to follow on that) πŸ’Έ

I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a wonderful new year. Lots of love to you all πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ

😍😍 M O R E C O M M I S S I O N S 😍😍

These two completely different but equally beautiful tables came to me for a refresh.

The gorgeous little retro Teak table, from Romania was stripped of its sticky thick dated lacquer to reveal some exquisite grain, for a little updating we decided to paint the magazine rack in Cornish Milk Mineral Paint Black Rock and used this colour to 'dip' the legs with a couple of inches to tie it all together.

The second table was a wedding gift, 28 years ago, and my client wanted me to match it to a piece I had supplied earlier in the year, so this too was stripped, and then painted in Cornish Milk Mineral Paint Samphire.

Both tables were sealed with Oil, varnished and then waxed for added protection.

I felt particularly proud of these two pieces, they were so different to when they came to me, I think and important part of this job is if I dont secretly want to keep the pieces I refinish for my clients, then I'm doing something wrong πŸ˜‚

Almost finished for the year, a few more commissions to collect and then its paintbrushes hung up for a few days!

Commission work is always something I feel honoured to be trusted with. To take something that has been in the family for a long time, and breath new life into it so it can be reused within the family is always such a pleasure and truly meets my ethos of reusing and recycling.

My lovely customer entrusted me with these cute little coffin tables and bedside table.

The tops were stripped, and the bodies painted in Cornish Milk Mineral Paint in Bake House. The tops were sealed in my go to 100% virgin h**p oil and waxed for protection, the bodies were varnished with a dead flat matt and also waxed for protection.

I cant wait to see them in their home 😍

Thanks again for your support

This gorgeous pair of Stag Minstrel bedside tables were a recent commission for a local glamping site! How exciting 🀩.

Together we matched the tables to the customers upholstery, and decided on Cornish Milk Mineral Paint in Seaglass.

Brass Bee k***s in heritage brass were chosen to off set the colour and add a touch of class 🐝🐝

The tops were stripped back the the makore (African Cherry), fed with 100% virgin h**p oil and waxed for protection.

Both tables were waxed inside and out and the runners were given a lid of beeswax to help them glide easily.

What a wonderful way to ensure great quality furniture, with a modern twist,

Well this little beauty was a real pleasure to update.

This vintage Ercol Credence Cabinet would make an excellent drinks cupboard, or hallway cabinet, with lots of storage. With two doors, the right hand k**b twists to unlock, and the left door has a locking latch mechanism, opening to a half shelf allowing for a range of heights (perfect for bottles) 🍾.

The large lower drawer has lots of space, with Ercols usual generous proportions.

The top was stripped to reveal the solid Elm grain, which has been fed with 100% organic h**p oil 🍁 and waxed for protection 🌳.

The body was primed with Cornish Milk Mineral Paint in Foggy and painted in Cornish Milk Mineral Paint in the colour Siren - inspired by the old folk tales of Merfolk caught off the Cornish shores and of Legends of fishermen being seduced by mermaids song to their death at sea πŸ§œβ€β™€οΈπŸ§œβ€β™‚οΈπŸ§œβ€β™€οΈπŸ§œβ€β™‚οΈ. Sealed with Polyvine Dead Flatt Matt varnish and sealed with clear wax, and finally dark waxed for a little added depth and patina.

Inside has been cleaned, sanitised and rewaxed, and the drawer runners have been rubbed with beeswax to allow it open and close smoothly.

Free local delivery is available, please DM for information.

😍 F U R N I T U R E R E F I N I S H 😍

It is always an honour to be trusted with a clients furniture, and it's really special to be part of a client falling back in love with a piece of furniture that was at threat of being 'moved on' πŸ™Š

My client was no longer happy with this chest of drawers for her (envy inspiring) dressing room. She wanted a classy style, with the wonderful brass bee pulls that I have been using lately. We had a skype consultation and after seeing it I was certain we could do exactly what she wanted 😍.

Primed with Cornish Milk Mineral Paint Primer in Foggy we achieved fantastic grip for the Black Rock, which I gave the chest 4 coats of for a really deep finish, and then dead flat varnish and waxed for protection.

We decided that bee k***s all the way down might be too much, so we found some complimentary k***s in a distressed pewter. When the bees arrived they were a little shinier than the floral k***s, so I dry brushed some Black Rock over the bees and sipped the excess which matched them perfectly.

The chest has a hidden cushion drawer at the top, which had faulty runners, we removed those and replaced with new runners.

We delivered the chest yesterday and the client was over the moon.

I have to say I did feel a little sad leaving it behind, it was such a beauty.

Thanks to for all the muscle with this mighty piece.

Thanks to for the paint :)

When my parents asked me for a commissioned sideboard, I knew they would have the confidence to go for something bold.

They've recently ordered a new sofa in a gorgeous pale stone colour - soon to be arriving 🀞and my Mum being ever the fashionista is pairing this with a burnt orange feel for their soft furnishings.

We decided to try Lobster by Cornish Milk Mineral Paint, on this beautiful Ercol Old Colonial Sideboard and I think it's worked better than I could have imagined.

The natural wood top was stripped of it's dark stain, sanded back to its beautiful grain. This was the fee with 100% organic h**p oil and waxed for protection.

The body of the sideboard was sanded and paired with Cornish Milk Mineral Primer Foggy and then roller painted with Cornish Milk Mineral Paint Lobter. The sideboard was then sealed with dead flat varnish from Polyvine, and clear waxed for protection and dark waxed for detail.

I think you'll agree this sideboard is an absolute triumph!

Thanks for the paint!

Last night we found these beautiful Vanessa Cardui butterflies (painted lady) resting their heads behind a stiff drawer in a new piece of furniture, as the warmth of my kitchen woke them from their hibernation they began to flutter and stretch their wings.

We quickly cobbled together a butterfly hotel for the night and waited before releasing them into the sunshine this morning to find somewhere safe to continue their snooze bye bye beauties, sleep well 😍
