My latest project, during planting, and nearing completion.
The soil preparation required a good deal of effort, but it made the process of planting most enjoyable. Another satisfied client, and a happy designer!

The humble hollyhock, enobled by the morning sun.
Easy to grow and care for and a useful source of quickly established height. They seed freely
come in a variety of shades and the bees love them. I can't think of a reason not to have them in your garden.

The robin is such a fabulous little bird. What would the garden, and gardening be without them?

Nature's winter palette is a subtle one, of washed browns, hinted purples and bleached greys. Evergreens bring a sense of life, and the skeletal tracery of branches is sharpened by the shimmer of watery skies.

I know that I have not posted for a while, so here is a glimpse of a scheme which is currently in development.
The idea is to bring elements of deer control to the site, whilst still allowing the deer to pass through the grounds. In pursuit of this aim I am developing attractive fencing options based around sustainably sourced Sweet chestnut. The gates will be based on a design which is already in use in the garden.
I intend to use a Herefordshire based supplier for the timber, and local artisans to produce the gates.
