It’s been a busy week! I’ve been building an oak sliding door! While the majority of cutting and measuring has been done, there’s still a long way to go. So far I’ve cut the wood from to size, dominoed connecting pieces using my domino DF500, dry assembled the slats and installed a sliding door latch from . More to follow!

Spent this weekend making a new table top for a side table in our conservatory out of English Walnut! I started by cutting down a 60mm slab of walnut, re-sawed it on the bandsaw to book match the two halves and dominoed them together. After gluing, I made a makeshift trammel jig for the router to sit on to cut out the circle. I used the router table to add a bevel on the underside and an edge breaker on the top. I recently completed a remake of this finial for a summer house! Safe to say it’s turned out great! I had to trace the original, cutting it in two goes, one for the front, then taped it back together with masking tape then cut it again on the side to get both profiles!

A recently completed project - Refinishing of an oak dining table top and oak console table. When these tables came to me, they were water damaged and rough. Sanding back down to bare wood, misting with water to raise the grain and finishing in Poly-X Clear Glossy, they look so much better!

Looking back on some projects of 2025, this is a set of handrails I installed after redecorating our hallway. Made from Oak, with brass brackets and mitred ends.

A recently completed project, a Theodore Alexander side table. This came to us with a broken spindle. I remade the broken part, reattached it to the main spindle and stained it to match. We’re now closed for Christmas, you can still email and place orders, for any projects, we’ll add you to the waiting list for the new year!
