This roof was a monster! 🔨

A reminder popped up of this full roof renovation we completed a couple of years ago, and I realised I’d never shared it!

The existing roof was rotten and had to be removed. We cut a new roof over the house, extended it over the existing side garage and enlarged the dormer on both sides to create extra bedrooms and and bathrooms

386 rafters and joists were cut altogether and what a sight seeing them all in position! 👌

The team worked hard on this one and enjoyed every second of it. A job we’re proud to look back on!

🏡 FULL HOUSE RENOVATION, STRUCTURAL ALTERATIONS & EXTENSION

Here’s a few before & afters of this lovely property we completed for lovely clients at the start of the year.

This one was a complete transformation from top to bottom, including a new extension, loft conversion, 3 new bathrooms, full rewire, all new plumbing and heating, full renovation throughout and major structural alterations.

We knocked through the rear of the existing house into the new extension to create a large open plan kitchen, dining and living space, complete with a brand new kitchen and utility.

Definitely up there with one of our favourite renovations to date 👌

The whole project was taken care of by the Hills team from start to finish, managing every stage of the build so our clients didn’t have to worry about a thing.

A big thank you to the whole team once again. The consistency in the quality of work across every project and the pride everyone takes in what they do is something we’re really proud of. 👏

A proper team effort and a transformation we’re proud to put our name to. 🏡🔨

If you’re looking to transform your property into your dream home, please get in touch.

Working alongside our trusted architect, we can take care of the whole process from the initial ideas and plans, right through to the build and final completion.

NEW BUILD

We’re up to roof level on this timber frame build, ply is going on next, with standing seam roof to finish.

Hard to capture the full structure in one shot, so here’s a few from along the way.

Here’s the numbers 👇

16 concrete lorries
2,467 blocks
2,670 bricks
157 concrete T-beams
25 lengths of steel
240 bolts
97 timber frame panels
135 joists
122 rafters

A serious amount of work has gone into this so far, the team have smashed it 👏

Full House Renovation

We’ve recently completed a full house renovation, including major structural, thermal, and internal upgrades.

Three rooms were opened up into an open plan space with structural steelwork, including steels for new bi-fold doors. Between the knock throughs, we removed over 60 tonnes of hardcore from this property, with walls up to 500mm thick😲

The ground floor was fully dug out, insulated, fitted with underfloor heating, and a new screeded floor. The house was plastered throughout and finished with second fix carpentry, a new staircase, ground floor tiling, and a new kitchen.

Super proud of the team for getting this project over the line! 👏

GARAGE/WORKSHOP

Earlier this year, we completed this little project, taking down a tired old garage and transforming it into a brand new garage/office space. Before any machines touched the ground, we had to navigate the planning process and with this being an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, every detail of the design had to be carefully considered.

Our goal was to keep the character of the original building, so we reused the existing Gower stone and blended it with clean, modern cedar cladding. The mix of old and new worked even better than we imagined.

Really proud of how this one turned out.
Another great job from the Team

Same angle. Completely different.

This one has just popped up in the memories, a job we completed a few years back where the design and build came together just right.

We knocked through into the new extension and added an opening for the bifolds. We designed to blend in like it’s always been part of this old cottage.

We even added fake beams to keep it in character and match the original style 👌

Smart design makes all the difference, it gives you proper use of your space, loads more light, and adds value to your home.

EXTENSION KNOCK THROUGH!!

A few months back we completed this open plan kitchen extension.

We built a 4m x 8m extension and knocked through the existing external wall, installing steel beams to open up the space.

We fitted 4M Bifold doors to flood the room with natural light, along with new internal doors, skirtings, and architraves throughout the home.
A brand new kitchen supplied by .swansea was installed and stunning herringbone LVT flooring laid.

Another one ticked off by the Hills Carpentry & Building Ltd team

Another kitchen knock-through wrapped up!
This one took us just 2 months from start to finish, delivered on time and looking sharp.

We opened up the space to bring in more light, flow, and functionality, and the difference is amazing!

All structural work, finishing touches, and everything in between handled by our team.
