Interestingly Different

Interestingly Different A gift and homeware store with a difference. Selling beautiful products from social enterprises.

We love all things vintage, retro, antiques and things a little bit out of the ordinary, that is what makes us 'Interestingly Different' .....

•We are a not-for-profit community interest company, which basically means any profits we make go back into the company and goes towards supporting the community.
•We are passionate about working with and employing people marginalised in their communit

y, in particular people with learning disabilities. We work closely with our sister organisation 'Nickel Support' to offer the most effective support we can, to as many people as we can ...
•We are always on the look out for unique items for our customers that could feature in a photo shoot, used by interior designers or as a statement piece in a home.
•We offer a personal service .... if there is something you are looking for haven' been able to find, then let us know and we will keep our eye out on our travels

. ☕️ Exciting things are happening at Interestingly Different!

We’ve got some shiny new equipment and we’re officially in the mug-making business!

We’ve been busy putting the equipment through its paces and, most importantly, teaching some of our trainees how to use it. Soon, you’ll be able to enjoy your morning cuppa from a mug featuring artwork created by our talented trainees in our art sessions.

We can’t wait to show you what they create! Keep your eyes peeled… 👀

Behind every beautiful Jesmonite piece we sell is a story. ✨

A story of creativity, craftsmanship, skills learnt and confidence built.

From mixing and pouring to sanding and finishing, every piece gives our trainees the chance to learn new skills, discover their talents and find a sense of purpose.

And the best bit? You get to take home something handmade, meaningful and completely one of a kind. 💛

🐱 We’ve been up to some pawsome things in the art studio!

Our trainees have been getting creative with some purrfectly playful cat illustrations as they work on ideas for some exciting new products.

There’s been plenty of creativity, lots of great ideas and some seriously cute designs!

We think they’re onto something pretty special. We’ll be sharing more soon, so keep your eyes peeled!

Things got VERY competitive in the shop last week… 👀😂

Enterprise Manager Dave, Service Manager Hannah and trainee Matthew took on the Trap Door, Lift, Stairs, Escalator miming challenge!

Three team members. One challenge. Plenty of determination (and a fair bit of chaos!) 😂

Who do you reckon took the win? 👇

💛 It’s so much more than just a card.

Every penny you spend with us goes straight back into our organisation, helping us grow our enterprises and create more opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.

So when you buy a card, you’re helping someone learn new skills, build confidence, make connections and find purpose.

A little card. A big impact. 💛

If you had to describe Interestingly Different in just one word, what would it be? 🤔

We asked some of our team to choose the one word they think sums us up, and their answers say it all. 💙

Now it’s your turn… What’s the one word that comes to mind when you think of Interestingly Different? Drop it in the comments! 👇

A little peek behind the scenes in our Cheam workshop…

While we’re busy giving old furniture a new lease of life, there’s so much more happening than a fresh coat of paint. Our trainees are learning new skills, working together, building confidence and making friendships along the way.

Every piece of furniture that leaves our workshop is one of a kind, and every purchase helps us create more opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.

So when you take home one of our upcycled pieces, you’re supporting something much bigger than furniture. 💚
