Referring back to our post of the 15th February, we are delighted to confirm that we have now received Detailed Planning Approval for the new community building here in Doune. We are so pleased to have received this consent quickly and with very few conditions attached. Next stage is to get the Building Warrant, which relates to the technical aspects and 'how' it is built, submitted and approved, which needs to be done before any works can commence.

We want you to get interactive with today's post !
We are working with a client at the moment, to propose a design for the replacement of a cottage which is in very poor condition. The site, in the south of Scotland, looks over a loch, and the garden rises sharply behind it to the access road. The ideal scenario is to have the main living area at the higher level for both ease of access and to improve the aspect over the loch. The Planning department will have very specific thoughts about the design.
So what we would like you to do, is tell us which of the attached is your preference, or indeed maybe you don't like any of the options. Either way, we'd love to hear your comments. ALL THE OPTIONS ARE NEW BUILD and would be to a high eco standard. The accomodation for each is very similar (3 double bedrooms). These are just draft concept sketches, but we hope that you can appreciate them.

Today we thought that you might be interested to see a slightly different project we are currently involved with. It is the replacement of a currently basic building used for community purposes. Still at the early stages, the proposals provide for a large general purpose room, with supplemental private room; kitchen and toilet facilities. The central room will be a light, bright area, lit by the large feature windows at the front, and skylights overhead.
Finished externally in timber cladding, the striking frontage incorporates slat louvers to protect the windows from flying footballs from the adjacent playing fields.
The building to, will have our high performance thermal construction, so should have low running costs.

Happy New Year !
It has been a little while since we showed some pics of the home near Inverness and over the festive break, the clients managed to get the scaffold dismantled. This now allows us to do the final items ... finish the open entry porch and install the large French doors to the rear. The home nestles really well into it's location, and blends so well with its surroundings. As we are only doing the 'Erect-To-Shell', the client is organising the internal fit out and external groundworks.
