The island of Zanzibar lies off the coast of Tanzania; it has an interesting culture and above all is famous for its spices. The atmosphere and character of the location is also reflected in the resort as a whole, combining as it does indigenous elements with nature and local traditions. The resort is located on the north part of the island by the village of Kendwa. The resort owns a 300m long stretch of breath-taking beach, one of the most beautiful in the world. The resort also includes an extensive landscaped garden covering over two hectares, the planting of which started two years before the completion of the project.
With regards to the location of the island, TECHO had to deal with a lot of specific local circumstances. The order for ZURI Zanzibar was a further project in which a bespoke turn-key solution was successfully delivered to challenging locality.
