Established in September 2007, MyHairDressers.com’s innovative and groundbreaking projects have defined the manner in which hairdressing training is delivered via the Internet. MHD has pioneered online hairdressing training and is now recognised as the leading force behind this new medium, offering a unique platform to nurture and encourage the development of hairdressers around the world. In Sept
ember 2012 MyHairDressers.com introduced the first in a range of Student Support Packs, covering City & Guilds NVQ Level 2 in the UK, including SVQ in Scotland. The unique and affordable MHD S/NVQ Level 2 Student Support Pack, has been produced in association with Stockport College, an OFSTED Outstanding Beacon College, to enable colleges and learning providers to set challenging skill development targets for learning outside the classroom to allow learners to improve the quality of their skills. The MHD S/NVQ Level 2 Student Support Pack includes resources covering every unit within the S/NVQ2 curriculum and has been designed to replace all of the outdated materials such as books and DVDs, using a user-friendly and intuitive interface designed with colours and fonts sympathetic to those with dyslexia and/or dyspraxia. Once a user is logged-in, they will be able to navigate through the entire site without extended hours of instruction. For the first time students and tutors have access to a constantly updated and complete S/NVQ Level 2 educational library, which can be accessed anytime and anywhere, as long as the user has Internet access. The MHD S/NVQ2 library is available to over 4,400 desktop and mobile devices and features internationally recognised contributors, such as Tim Hartley, Patrick Cameron, Josh Woods, Stacey Broughton, John Vial and many more. For work-based learners and their employers, the package allows employers to standardise their delivery of foundation techniques to those taught within the college or learning provider environment and supplement their college time with home-based study to develop strong foundation skills and help learners maintain employment or progress to courses leading to higher-level qualifications. MHD is extending these support packs to cover S/NVQ Level 1, 3 and 4 plus VRQ (Vocationally Related Qualification) for 2, 3 and 4 in Hairdressing during Quarter 1 2013. MHD will also launch the international VRQ support pack in 2013. Other student support packs will be mapped to specific country curricula in the future, beginning with Australia's SIH 11 Certification in 2013.
