β½οΈβ½οΈ Match Report β SPS Blues vs Killamarsh Dynamos
What a performance from the SPS Blues today! With only six players available out of our usual eight, the lads showed unbelievable determination, energy, and teamwork from the first whistle to the last.
We had some late drama before kick-off β Harrison had to pull out early this morning with a sickness bug, and poor Ollie bravely came along but was struck down with the same bug and had to sit out. Full credit to him though, he still stood on the touchline cheering his teammates on!
Despite being two players down, the Blues produced a fantastic display of passing, movement, and sheer hard work tracking back to defend.
Both of our keepers, Leo and Thomas, shared the gloves and were brilliant β calm, confident, and reliable when called upon. At the back, Oliver was flawless, solid in defence and starting attacks with some excellent passes out from the back.
The midfield energy came from both Freddies, who put in huge shifts, constantly up and down the pitch to support in attack and defence β theyβll certainly have earned their sleep tonight!
Man of the Match went to Charlie (sponsored by STEEL LINE) Steel Line Ltd, who produced a performance that had absolutely everything β a goal, endless attacking runs, crosses, tackles, tracking back, and a real drive to push the team forward. (And yes, thatβs even from his non-biased dad! π
)
The standout moment of the match was undoubtedly our first goal β a corner routine straight off the training ground. A pinpoint delivery from Freddie S was met with a brilliant finish from our captain Thomas. A great example of practice paying off!
Killamarsh asked questions of us but rarely troubled our keepers. Their goals came from a scrappy pinball in the box and a penalty, which shows just how well the Blues defended as a unit.
A superb all-round team performance and one of the most hard-fought displays yet. Every single lad should be hugely proud of themselves today.
