A bit of colour for a change! The beautiful Blue Lobster by ❤️ it’s a stunning deep blue, the most true royal blue I’ve seen actually. I love it! A little tricky to master but got there in the end!

More info on how it was done on my previous post - go check it out.

A nod to the jungle for this commission 🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅🐅
It should be storing toys by now in a little girl’s bedroom 🥰

Look at this blue!! It is Lobster Blue by with lovely handles from which are super cute!

I had a few issues getting full coverage with this blue over a white primer but we got there in the end and it’s perfect now! The blue is amazing!

This is to go as a toy cupboard for my customer’s daughter who loves animals 🐅🐅🦒🦍🦓🐆🐘🦬🦏🐪🦧🐫🦣
I was severely lacking animal /toy related paraphernalia to stage this to my best ability so there are a few nods to the jungle instead 😆

⭐️Testing out brushes!⭐️

I’ve been trying some out brushes this week. The 2” and the square brush.

⭐️First - the 2” brush. I got this as a freebie to review after I applied to a request for testers on their Instagram. I’ve since completed their survey but thought I’d share here too. Unfortunately they sent me a brush I would never normally use due to its size but I had a go and I liked how narrow the depth of bristles were, making the brush easier to manoeuvre although the bristles are quite stiff which caused a bit of paint flick-age. 😄 it cleaned really well and the bristles didn’t retain the paint colour like some brushes do, which is reassuring. I liked it, but I didn’t love it. Probably because it wasn’t what I needed. 🤷‍♀️

⭐️Second - the square brush. I love love loved this brush. It wasn’t free, I bought this one to see what all the fuss was about. I’m glad I did. My usual method is to use a roller and a detail brush for delicate areas, this brush was perfect for that! It got easily into corners and was amazing for cutting in, loved it! Didn’t clean too well though and my bristles are now blue 🤷‍♀️ The handle is comfy and it was great on spindles, handling curves really well.

In short - eco brush is difficult to review because it wasn’t fit for what I needed it for but what I saw I liked. The Zibra brush is made for furniture and was brilliant, I highly recommend you get one of these. It’s even better than the Staalmeester brush! And less expensive! Absolutely invest! I got mine from - link in my bio.

Have you tried either of these? Tell me what you thought of them? ❤️

Hi everyone! ⭐️Super quick flip time! ⭐️

I still find it amazing how coat of paint can transform something so quickly and easily!

Here is Autentico white pepper doing its thing again, I’ve got a bit of a thing for this colour now I think! The other piece I am working on is bright blue so that will break the monotony for you 😂 although I’m pretty obsessed with my neutrals so I’m not sure how long that will last.

This towel rail has been sanded, filled in some places and painted. Using my brush.

I’m so pleased to tell you that I have a little concession in this beautiful interiors shop, BB & Beth in Richmond! That’s the North Yorkshire, Richmond, not the London one 😂

Karen who runs BB&Beth has kindly invited me to sell some of my pieces in the shop which is wonderful news for my little business. At the moment I have my cream sideboard in there, so you can go and have a look at it if you are nearby.

If you have ever wondered about the quality of my work you can now inspect it with your own eyes and hands! (clean hands please it is cream😁) ✋

BB&Beth is on Finkle Street in the heart of Richmond and Karen is there most days, running workshops and selling paint. She is very experienced and knowledgeable about all kinds of painting techniques and finishes - she’s lovely too! 💁🏻‍♀️

So if you’re passing, pop in! I have left some business cards with Karen so you can pick one up if you’d like to speak to me about commissions or sourcing pieces for you.

⭐️What’s your favourite type of furniture? ⭐️

You might have guessed by now that is my favourite furniture brand, especially their old colonial range, I love seeing them come back to life with a lick of paint and the beautiful wood grain coming through 😍 I also love collecting the old catalogs 🤭

So here are a few of my favourites. Ive got some more pieces in the pipeline which I can’t wait to do so that’s exciting!

Anyone else an Ercol fan? 🤩

I thought this trunk refurb from last year was worthy of a little video so here it is. It had been in their family for years and needed a good clean up.

The thick layers of paint took an age to remove but once it was off the original canvas was in great condition - a maroon red, if you can believe it!

The metalwork was resprayed and the insides were sealed first to ensure the trunk was waterproof and then covered with faux leather. The canvas was painted with in Midnight Blue, a favourite of mine! There’s a full detailed breakdown of what I did on the original post on my Instagram grid and page too 👍 also pictures in my Instagram story highlights.

This took much much longer than you would guess 🤣 but I love a challenge! 😍

🥰The original of this song was my wedding song which is great timing for my anniversary on Wednesday ❤️

I’m just returning to some of my old pieces and I think this is one of my favourites. Soapstone and white stain and finishing oil. I love the blue undertones of soapstone and how the white sfo can bring some of the pinks out of the wood 😍 so pretty!

I also used William Morris paper from to line the drawers and shelves ❤️ I’m going to do this again very soon!

Here’s the camphor chest I have been working on for my lovely customer Denise.

Denise had an idea in mind for this to fit in with her dressing room and wanted it to be white with some wood grain showing, she sent me some gorgeous inspo pics and then once she had picked her white ( Snow White) I got to work!

The trunk is beautifully made and had belonged to her grandmother so it was very special to her.

Denise is currently in a fight (and winning!!🥰) against a very rare form of cancer and her strength and positivity has really inspired me. You are so strong Denise ❤️ a true warrior.

I really wanted to make this exactly how she wanted, so this is what i did:

⭐️bleached the yellow from the beech (IGTV on how to do this is on my grid)
⭐️painted with versante mat Snow White
⭐️washed with Algonquin
⭐️waxed with Best dang wax

It’s a beauty and I am so thrilled that Denise loves it too. ❤️❤️

All products are available from who I am now an affiliate of yay! ❤️ if you wish to purchase any products mentioned above please follow the link in my Instagram bio and I will make a small commission from the sales no cost to you 😀
