It's been a while, forgive us. What with life events, both beginning (which is fab by the way) and end, moving house, designing and making the NJ Bettys, etc, we took some time away from mainstream online stuff.

We have just relisted our portfolio back on Amazon - there will be some changes as we need to change some EANs (barcode numbers) which means deleting listings and thereby will lose a great many of our fabulous reviews.

We are also no longer allowed to write to customers on Amazon to say thank you. Bonkers, but it's their system. No doubt the harvesters will come along and we will embrace the challenge ;-).

As a consumer, Amazon is an easy platform to order from and we totally get that.

Our etsy store and website are still up and running - as always, any questions, anything we can help with, Paul & Philippa are here: just drop us a note.

We do though, make little beanbags with no on/off buttons to worry about ;-).

The Techbed Mini made by us here, at home. Larger sizes are available and the whole Techbed portfolio is available through our website and also etsy.

Greetings one and all. Just a heads up as we approach the busy season....Philippa & I decided to stop selling our Techbed portfolio through Amazon back in the summer.

Mentally, it has been akin to lifting a heavy weight off the shoulders. As a consumer, Amazon is easy. As a seller, it is a chuffing nightmare and as we approach our later years of life shall we say, we just didn't need the hassle or grief. One of the characteristics of getting old I suppose ;-).

Our Techbed portfolio is still available through our etsy store and of course through our little website.

We are hoping to move "upt North" at some point to be nearer Josh & Becca. As and when we have a date, we will let you know when we intend to turn the shops off, focus on moving and reopen when the dust settles.

We hope that you and your families are all staying jolly 'n safe.

We have closed our shops for a few days and will reopen on Boxing Day with a view to start despatches on Monday 30th December.

It has been an incredible year for us and we would like to thank everyone who has helped us along our little journey xx

Phil and I closed our online shops as we popped away to the beautiful island Ischia, just off Naples, for a few days. Thoroughly recommend it, brilliant time: natural spas, beaches, daily bus ticket, restaurants, not using the hotel's Mini bar but supporting the local economy ;-)....

We have though, upon our return, finally broken our COVID cherry, the modern day traveller's curse.

To that end, we will not be reopening our website, etsy or Amazon stores until we're both through the other side.

On July 4th of last year, our babe's birthday, we received a phone call from NJ (Nicola Jane) asking if we would be interested in designing a breast form for ladies who have had a mastectomy or lumpectomy.

Given that we have family and friends who are going or who have gone through this, we said, yes. We could only not find a solution. But what if we could........

We received a sketch with dimensions from NJ and made a prototype out of upholstery vinyl. The shape, we thought, was there or thereabouts. 5 weeks later, we received an existing product that sat, 100%, over ours.

So we knew we had the shape, the key then was the filling to create the right density. We tried various avenues, always with the view that we wouldn't fail, we would just find a way of not doing it.

We didn't disregard anything. This was far too important. Cutting up old T-shirts (and my T-shirts are jolly big) to create samples - the aim was to learn. We found a company that recycle glass, making glass beads that are used in runways and roads and through Linkedin, found that the UK MD worked with and knew Phil's sister, Lucy.

One phone call to Lucy, one phone call to the MD.... "how can I help?" The first time we loaded a sample, we broke down in tears as we knew we were so close to nailing the brief.

Our contact at NJ, Sarah, fabulous lady, decided on the outer fabric and here we are.

Made by us. We always maintained that if we could help one lady, fabulous, two ladies, job done.

We know that we're not going to rock everyone's boat: akin to our Techbed portfolio.

Having said that, at the beginning, we could have said, no.

Meet Betty! Our new beaded breast form is designed and made in the UK. Made with a 92% organic cotton outer, recycled glass and polypropene beads on the inside.

Just a heads up: Phil & I are no longer making our furniture beanbags as we have an ongoing project that we wish to make more time for.....it has over the years, been fabulous to get the grey matter going, working out the maths, cutting the fabric and seeing all of our designs come together. We have been really lucky to have some extraordinarly creative people working with us - Clare, Jane, Catherine, Fiona and Hummers too, to name but a few.

We shall continue to create our Techbed portfolio as we know that they do help and they are, still, quite cool.

We will, with the ok of our client, update you with what we are creating moving forwards as they, we hope, will also help people.

Below or above, not really sure, are a few examples of our creations from the last decade......and in line with our largest beanbags, the 2.5m long rockets, it's been a blast.

Good morning from a misty and rather crisp Wokingham.

Just our annual heads up that we will be closing the shops at midday on Wednesday 20th December as this is the last day that Royal Mail Tracked 24 can be delivered before Christmas.

If you are local and have forgotten someone, do give us a shout.

We will reopen the shops on Saturday 23rd December with a view to start despatches again on the 28th.

We're pleased to report that we have made more Techbed Minis this calendar year than the last 5 years! This despite a couple of, to quote a good friend, "you can't unplug a beanbag," experiences.

2024 - we are working on a project that will hopefully help people, which has always been our goal, a project we will publicly declare as and when, if even, we receive the offical "go" from the client.

We're back from a fabulous time away and have reopened our online stores: Amazon, etsy and our website.

This little Techbed Mini served us well, made it about a year ago - we gave it to a lady who was who was using an iPad on our last day.
