Today we said goodbye to Gwen.

We gathered in the beautiful chapel at Lower Ince for a small and intimate service, remembering and celebrating Gwen's life exactly as she had wished.

Today's service was less about speeches and more about quiet reflection, with meaningful poems and music helping us honour her memory.

Gwen was a much-loved mum, mother-in-law, grandma and friend. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered and forever cherished. 💝

Today we said goodbye to Tommy.

Tommy was a much-loved brother, uncle, great-uncle and great-great-uncle. Family meant everything to him, especially after losing his father at the young age of just 15. The bonds he shared with those he loved were at the very heart of his life.

Tommy had a deep love of blues, jazz and soul music. He also took great pride in expressing himself through his writing and poetry. Today, we had the privilege of hearing one of Tommy’s poems, which won the inaugural Manchester Poetry Festival in 1994… A wonderful reminder of his creativity and talent.

Tommy was always consistent, kind and incredibly generous. In his later years, he volunteered at his local hospice charity shop. Being part of the community and giving something back brought him great fulfilment and truly fed his soul.

Today we said goodbye with heavy hearts, but also with hearts full of love and gratitude for all the memories Tommy leaves behind. His kindness, creativity and generosity will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Today we said goodbye to Neal.

Neal was a devoted family man who grew up alongside his five sisters sharing a close bond that remained important throughout his whole life.

He began his career serving in the Scotts Guards, a role that reflected his sense of duty, commitment and strength of character.

Later Neal married and became a devoted father to his two daughters. They each described their dad as selfless, unconditional in his love and great fun to be around. Neal was not one for grand displays of affection; instead, his love was often shown through the simple gestures that meant so much…. a reassuring pat on the head rather than a hug. Neal always showed a quiet but constant presence and willingness to put others before himself.

He found great enjoyment in DIY projects, gardening and sea fishing. He took pride in keeping busy, creating, fixing and caring for people he loved.

Above all, Neal will be remembered for his devotion to his family, his kindness, his gentle ways and the love he gave so freely. He will be incredibly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Today we said goodbye to Paul.

When we think of blended families, we often think of the challenges and disruption they can sometimes bring, but there was none of that in Paul’s heart or home. He made sure there was always inclusion, love and unconditional support for everyone around him.

That kindness extended far beyond his family. The number of people who attended his service today showed just how deeply loved and valued Paul was…. in his family, among his friends and within his work community.

Paul was a devoted supporter of Liverpool F.C. Today the room was a sea of red football shirts, worn proudly in his honour.

As Paul begins his spiritual journey today, I’d like to think he has been lovingly reunited with his mum and his nan.

Rest peacefully Paul, may the love you gave so freely continue to live on in all those fortunate enough to have known you.

Last week we looked within ourselves: finding answers to questions which have circled, spiralled and manifested in our minds.

Sometimes we don’t know the answers, but what we do know is that our negative or manifested thoughts are not always reality.
We took time to explore different scenarios and ways to manage and control our panic, helping us to understand our emotions and responses more clearly.

We also explored creativity and connection by making our own personalised gifts, bookmarks and canvases incorporating our favourite Bible quote from Colossians. This brought faith into our session: something many of us often turn to in times of need.
Alongside this, we created family trees, visually observing our connections and relationships… something which brought both understanding and comfort.

Some children chose to make gifts for others. It continues to surprise me how resilient children can be. Living within the same household, experiencing apprehension and uncertainty, yet still thinking of others first.
In a world that can sometimes feel chaotic, we have selfless children who simply want everything to be okay. 🥰

With this in mind, we also explored our own energy levels. While it is good to help others, knowing when to step back and preserve our own energy is equally important…. After all, “you can’t pour from an empty cup.”

Today we said goodbye to Jack.

Jack was a devoted partner to Carol of 36+ wonderful years. Today Jack and Carol are lovingly reunited at heavens gate.

Jack leaves behind Carols devoted daughter Joanne and his three grandchildren.

Today’s service was filled with beautiful memories, shared stories, laughter and tears. A particularly touching reading was given by Jack’s carer, whose heartfelt words captured Jack so perfectly and reminded us all of the special person he was.

Jack… you will be deeply missed, fondly remembered and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved you.

Today we said goodbye to Uncle Ken.

Today I sat amongst the many people who came to pay their respects to my Uncle… (my mum’s brother). I think someone must have invited the whole of Bolton with the turnout today.

Ken was a quiet man who never liked to make a fuss…. So today he would probably have looked around at everyone gathered there and said, “What’s all the fuss about?”

He was a devoted husband, a much-loved dad and an adored grandad. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need without hesitation.

Today we heard so many stories from years gone by and from more recent times too…. stories that brought laughter, smiles and warmth amongst so many broken hearts.

The world was truly a better place for having you in it 💙🙏🏻 Our hearts and homes now hold such a huge void without you.

Today I take comfort in the thought of my mum and her little brother being lovingly reunited at Heaven’s gate… and what a party that will be 💙💗@

Today we said goodbye to Gwen.

Gwen’s life was anything but ordinary. She travelled all over the world, though she held a particular love for India and Gambia.

She loved to play her djembe drum and could often be found with her music group in Manchester, or on a sandy beach somewhere far away surrounded by music, laughter and friendship.

Gwen devoted herself to raising money for children in Gambia, helping them fulfil their education and create brighter futures. She followed her own unique path…. one that became a deep spiritual journey of exploration and understanding.
Gwen found peace at the Buddhist centre in Manchester and had a great love of crystals and their magical healing properties.

Today we celebrated Gwen’s life. We shared stories, memories and smiles….. and together, we experienced seven minutes of mindfulness as we listened to “The Great Bell Chant” music that accompanied Gwen on her soul’s journey as her body was gently returned to the elements through cremation.

God bless you, Gwen.
A remarkable soul who dared to follow the path of the unknown.
