We are best known for our network of 2,000
Marie Curie Nurses, who work in the homes of terminally ill patients across the UK, providing practical care and support. Over the year, our nurses provided 1.2 million hours of nursing to 23,406 patients, along with support for their families. Marie Curie Hospices
Our nine Marie Curie Hospices across the UK provide expert care and the best quality of life for people with cancer and other illnesses. We are the biggest provider of hospice beds outside the NHS, and we are expanding outpatient and day services at all our hospices. Our hospices reached 8,393 people in 2010/11. There are Marie Curie Hospices in Belfast, Bradford, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Hampstead (London), Liverpool, Newcastle, Penarth (near Cardiff) and Solihull. Research
Marie Curie Cancer Care is a leader in research into the best ways of caring for people with terminal illnesses, and how care could be improved in future. We have our own research teams, and we fund external research programmes. Campaigning for patients
We campaign for more patients to be able to be cared for and die in their place of choice. Research shows around 64 per cent of people would like to die at home if they had a terminal illness, with a sizeable minority opting for hospice care. Our funding

A huge thank you to all who bag packed or donated at M and S foods in Oswestry before Christmas. We raised a fantastic amount of £2,026.56.

wow! We raised £3354.29 in our daffodil collection last month.
A huge thank you to all who collected and those who gave.
The street Collection- £1045, Sainsburys, 1292, M and S £473, and Morrisons £542. our best ever year.

Thank you to everyone who collected last weekend in Sainsburys on Friday and Saturday. Thanks also to any and all who donated giving us a brilliant total of £1292.38.
The street collection was on Saturday, thanks also to everyone who turned out in the cold to collect, a fantastic £1045.90 was banked!
Missed the chance to help out still have some spaces for bag collecting in April -2nd and 3rd M and S . - a great family outing?!

We have just heard that M & S have asked us to go and hold a daffodil collection on Friday 6th and Saturday 7th March.
This will be inside main doors so warmish!

Also they have asked us to Bag Pack on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday - 2nd and 3rd April.

I am aware that many of you have already generously donated your time in the next couple of weeks, for our other collections,
but PLEASE if you feel able to help out in either or both of the above collections, e mail or message me dates and times you are free.

Many thanks -yet again, lets see if we can get Oswestry to the top of the collection league for Shropshire!!

Wow. £3371.08 raised in Oswestry over Christmas,.
£2943.42 at the Bag packing in M & S , and £427.66. in the street collection. A huge thank you to all who collected and packed for us.
thanks also to those who stepped in at the last minute and helped out for the extra afternoon bag packing we got suddenly allocated .

Hi All
We have been allocated 4 days to Bag Pack in M and S in Oswestry. I gather only one other charity has been given one day, they said that MC packers were most reliable and efficient in their packing, so wanted us to have the lions share, if you helped with this in previous years thanks so much so helping us get this reputation!

we also have been given a license for a street collection . This is on Saturday 20th Dec.

The Bag packing is on
Saturday 20th
Sunday 21st
Monday 22nd
Wednesday 24th

We try to have at least 2 packers there between 9-6.

If you feel able to offer an hour or so on one or more days please could you E mail or message me with prefered days and times , and alternatives if possible.

Are you able to donate some of your precious time in the run up to Christmas? We have bag packing sessions at M & S Oswestry,
Dates and Times where help needed are- Tues 24th 10am-5pm
Mon 23rd 1pm-6pm, Wed 18th 1pm-6pm, Tues 17th 11-6pm, Sun 15th 10am-4pm, Sat 14th 2pm-6pm. Please message or phone if you are able to help out for an hour or so. This is a big fund raiser for us as people are very generous and grateful for help at this busy time of year, it's also great fun, 2-3 people for each time slot is brilliant, and a good family event ( children over 12 welcome) please help, each hour filled can raise enough for 2 hours nursing people in their own homes.
I am away for the next few days so if I don't get back to you please keep the time free and look forward to helping raise money in a fun way! Thank you
