With the evenings starting to draw in, it usually means your indoor and conservatory furniture starts to get a bit more attention.

Our upholstery collections are hand made, starting with a solid beech frame that's glued and dowelled together rather than just screwed. It's then upholstered by hand with quality foams and long-lasting metal springs. Our fabrics come from some of Europe's best fabric houses, hand cut and sewn so every pattern lines up where it should.

This summer really tested what "weatherproof" actually means, and the Matera's rated for exactly that kind of extreme - anywhere from -20°C to +70°C without fading, warping or rusting.

The corner sofa and matching chair sit around a high round table, seating six comfortably. The table top's a composite wood-effect finish, so no oiling or sanding required and the aluminium frame resists corrosion. The fabric's light grey with a water-repellent coating and it copes fine whether that's a downpour or an intense heatwave, like we've had this summer.

Some evenings it's just the four of you. Other times you've got extended family and friends round and need somewhere for everyone to actually sit.

The Monti handles both. It seats seven as standard and there's an eighth chair you can add on if numbers call for it. No shuffling furniture round every time the guest list changes.

It's been used to the max, sat on endlessly and dragged around the garden probably more than once! We'd usually say it's been rained on too, but that hasn't been very likely this year!

With the summer rush settling down, it's a good time to get any bigger garden pieces sorted before the weather takes a turn.

Everything comes with a two-person team, so it's carried into your garden and placed where you want it. We won't leave it on the drive for you deal with!

One thing this drought's been doing quietly is moving the ground beneath everything sat on it.

Clay soil shrinks when it's bone dry, then swells again once proper rain returns. That shift can nudge decking posts, fence panels and gates just enough to notice.

Here are 3 jobs you can do to save time and bother later down the line:

🪵 Give decking a wobble test, checking posts and joists haven't shifted
🚪 Check gates and fence panels still open, close and latch properly

Nights are starting to get a proper chill to them, even if the days still feel alright.

Anything tender that's been out in pots all summer won't thank you for a surprise frost, so it's worth keeping ahead of it.

🌡️ Keep an eye on the forecast, the first frost can catch you out earlier than expected
🏡 Move tender potted plants into a greenhouse, porch or conservatory before it hits
🧥 Can't move something? A horticultural fleece wrap will buy it a bit of protection

A few minutes now saves losing a plant you've nursed all year.
